I'm TitoFan, and I'm going on record saying that I agree with all the posters here. It's just an excuse. Whatever happens outside the ring, you got to put it all behind you when you step INTO the ring. And when you lose, you lose... that's it.
That being said, practically ALL boxers come up with excuses when they lose a fight, especially when they're not used to losing. It's hard to be in their shoes. If we were... we'd probably ALL have excuses too. I'll never forget how ungracious the great JCC was when he lost HIS first fight... it wasn't a pretty sight. So cut the guy some slack. It was his first loss in what was a spectacular, stellar career. He felt he let his countrymen down, especially after all the sh*t Hopkins spouted before the fight.
But I've always given Hopkins all the credit in the world on that night. He fought a masterful fight, and toppled the great Felix Trinidad. It was well-deserved.
