    What a chicken.
Yeah, it's beyond lame isn't it. A fighter who fights twice a year tops and wants to be retired in a handful of fights going on to fight.....Audley Harrison? The public are mugs and he knows it.
How are the public mugs? People that buy this fight are paying to be entertained. How do you know they won't get that?
The are mugs because they are buying into a meaningless fight. Audley Harrison has done nothing to deserve a shot at the title. From what I have seen of Harrison he is not particularly entertaining and doesn't throw. Haye is going to be all over him and it will likely be over early. I like good competitive fights and this is clearly not one of them.

It's a rubbish matchup, Fenster. Fact.
    Don't watch it then. Simple.

Just because it doesn't interest you it doesn't make fans that will watch it mugs. Whatever happens many fans will have an entertaining night - hardcore and casual.

You might as well say - anyone that doesn't share your interests are mugs.
I won't watch it. No way am I waking up at 6am to watch this. The only chance I will watch is a replay if Harrison lands the lucky shot.

No proper boxing fan is genuinely going to enjoy this charade. It's a farcical matchup. World boxing champ against ancient domestic opponent who hasn't beaten anybody. Pointless.

I think the people who want to see decent title fights are well within their rights to expect such a thing. A title shot should be earned and not handed out to anybody.

We all know that if there is money to be thrown at nothing then it can happen, but only mugs are paying to watch Audley Harrison at this stage.
Have you ever bought tickets or PPV for a boxing fight?
Considering that I have spent the past 8 years out of country where the option for doing so doesn't exist I would have to say no. If I had the options you can bet your life I would, the good fights I would watch and others I would skip.

I hope you are not going to lead onto the "you don't pay for it therefore you shouldn't have an opinion" type of argument. I'm a boxing fan and like to see good fights. The fact that I live in Asia shouldn't really exclude me from boxing and having opinions entirely.
That's fair enough. You are a mug too then.

Some mugs like different boxing events to you, thats all

i change my mind every 5 mins on thei fight, 1st i think haye is a coward not fighting the brothers then i think wait this fight will be massive & PROBABLY GOOD FOR BRITISH BOXING but not world boxing, i think it would be great if harrison won & defended against tyson fury personally. if haye aint fighting wlad or viatli there really aint anyone out there that excites me anyway.

if its ppv then prob go to a friends house & watch it with sum other lads, cheap night in with the beer. fk it

And I stand by my previous comment. It don't matter how much I or anyone else dislike harrison he'll still come into the ring in better shape than the vast majority of the so called top ten world rated heavys.
OK let's test that theory. Here's a list of heavyweights in general some are top 10, some top 20...who is Audley more in shape than?

    Tomaz Adamek
    Ruslan Chagaev
    Alexander Povetkin
    Tony Thompson
    Sam Peter
    Nicolay Valuev
    Dennis Boytsov
    Eddie Chambers
    Alexander Dimitrenko
    Cris Arreola
    Odlanier Solis
    Alexander Ustinov
    Ray Austin
    Juan Carlos Gomez
    Derrick Rossy
    Johnathan Banks
    Kali Meehan
    Robert Helenius
    Fransisco Pianetta

I can only pick out a few, Arreola, Solis, and Chambers jump out at me as being "Fat" or "Pudgy"....but Eddie has to have that extra weight to actually be a heavyweight. Sam Peter under 240 I consider that "in shape"

I'm with the FenMan on this one. The whole thing will be entertaining. The build-up, the fight itself and possibly even the aftermath, especially if the A-Train works his magic

I'd much rather watch this than watch him fight Povetkin, Arreola, Chagaev, Peter etc...

I hope you are including yourself in this rampant muggery, Fenster. After all wasn't it Shakespeare who said "We are all but mugs with bowels of tea and coffee". Or was it Marlowe? I always get them confused.

If people are genuinely up for this fight, then fair enough. But on the forums I only really see mockery and condemnation. Most of us know that it isn't a real or particularly meaningful fight. I'm sure the ensuing KO will make some laugh, but I just like my big fights with a little more meaning. I love Calzaghe, but you will never catch me defending the Manfredo fight. There are some fights that the fan of boxing would much rather just skip. Hornfinger is right that 90% of fights are pointless, but you expect the ratio to go down markedly when it comes to world title fights. But yeah, not always the case.

Haye with only 3 or 4 fights left is of course right to take easy money, but the boxing purist always wants more than money to add to the legacy. Of course, it's as a boxing fan that I am always coming from. The money option doesn't really compute for me.

totally understand where u comin from, but haye harrison is gonna be a big fight in the uk, probably the biggest possible. haye is all over the tv here & the average man in the street prob think he is the best out there then there is harrison who is pretty much hated alot not his own fault because after signing a £10 million deal with bbc for his first 10 fights he was always going to be heavily critisized. so let us have this one fight my friend as its gonna be good for the uk & generate alot of money. i myself would prefer haye to fight wlad or vitali but not looking like that will happen for a while if ever.

Agree with this. I think the trash talking will be class A as they both do it quite well. I still think the fight is a total joke when you compare to who Haye SHOULD be fighting but, it is what it is, and, as mentioned before, a comedy KO is guaranteed. There is absolutely no way this fight will go the full distance. If Haye wins, you can bet your bottom dollar/pound, Audley will be using all the excuses he can and will probably try and get a rematch. As long as Haye DOES fight a Klit after this, the comedy value will make it a LITTLE bit easier to swallow. If he doesn't, however, he will lost all respect and dignitity he did/does have.

yeah man the hype is gonna be great, this will be plasted all over the papers, great for british boxing & if harrison wins he can defend against tyson fury & that would be be more great hype. i am actaully thinking this is gonna be a good nights entertainment, either harrison gets KTFO or haye does. either way i am happy

Drago, didn't realise Harrison got that much? Jesus. Remember him being constantly booed from his fourth or fifth profesisonal fight onwards. Must, surely, go down as one of the most disliked British boxers of all time.

    Pointless, Pointless fight.

it tells me that Haye aint as confident as he seems because this really is a no win fight for him....

if he wins people will say.... so what.

if he loses he will become the laughing stock of the whole boxing world ((and he could lose))

fighters know what they have to offer... remember when Tyson took on Danny Williams to a host of critic's... Tyson knew why he took that fight and the world did after

massive fight in the uk but i doubt the rest of the world will even blink

It might seem pointless but it's easy money for Haye before he risks it all against a Klitschko.

    Yup.

IMO peter ain't in shape. If he hasn't been ko'ed by the seventh he'll sure as hell be spent physically.
