Fallout 3 looks very interesting.
I don't think Michael Moore hates America either. He is one of the the most patriotic Americans I have ever listened to.
I played a demo of Call of Duty yesterday and must admit that I was thinking "why the fuck am I playing this?". I've erased it now.
And for sure Dr. Robotnik is very much like Netanyahu. A nasty colonialist. Israeli's now control 42% of the occupied territories and it is all policed by the IDF. I just don't understand how you can overlook that, especially when the expansion is subsidised by your very own taxes.
You can get a brand new copy for $20 USD, which I did at the local Best Buy. I think you'll probably love the political background of the story. America got nuked by China and now it's a desolate wasteland where you have to survive, choosing to help people or take advantage of them.
I think that might well be my next purchase. But I do hope that you are not suggesting that I would like America to be obliterated by nuclear weapons. That couldn't be the furthest thing from my mind. I might be critical of how the country was founded and have a severe distaste for how the country is governed, but I sure wish for no harm to any of the general population.
When you have people like Bilbo saying that I hate Israel and Lyle saying that I hate America, I really think that is a small minded way of approaching very serious issues. When people do bad things you have to point it out. It doesn't neccessarily mean I hate a country, but it certainly means that the leaders are commiting atrocities and need to ammend their ways. The general population should not aquiesce in support of such policies and to call those who criticise as 'haters' is simply a tool of avoidance.
It's because the ONLY bad things you ever point out are sins committed by Israel and America!
You might say 'down the pub I talk about other stuff' but on this board you only choose to discuss the political sins of these two countries, so clearly they are the people who get your blood boiling, not China, North Korea, Iran etc.
When it comes to boxing talk as well your main interest of discussion is Amir Khan and after every fight you will seek a negative angle to take regarding his victory.
You clearly have agendas and personal biases.
I'm not saying I or others don't by the way. We all have 'subject fingerprints' so to speak, thread topics we are more likely to post in, people or nations we are more likely to discuss.
For example I readily admit I am a bit of a religious nut, a passionate supporter of the Jews, a believer in creationism and mocker evolution and atheistic humanism, in addition to being something of a sleaze with a fascination for pornography, dubious sexual practices and vulgarity.
An analysis of my posts over the years would support this.
You could take any main poster here and build a character profile on them based on their posts over a period of time, and no doubt Youngblood is an expert on this very matter and has written a thesis on this a couple of years ago.
Anyway, I've paused the new Predators film to respond in this thread and I want to get back to it. Blindingly good movie by the way!
For sure, I am a critic of both regimes and I have no qualms in saying that this is absolutely true. But like I have said, I have been very critical of England and Korea over the years too. I even started a thread about China and have no doubt contributed to numerous other threads started by others on a range of other countries and topics.
At the end of the day, Britain, Israel and America are closely aligned as the imperial colonialist operators in the world today and that is where my focus is most closely concentrated. Britain and America created Israel and that I am quite comfortable with Israels existence. I have no qualms with that, but we have a responsibility to ensure that this state follows international law and respects human rights and provides fair and equal opportunities for those living within the territories and Israel itself. I have an interest in the region and no doubt that spills over into my posting. I have only started about 2 threads about Israel and a couple on America. My ire is always aimed at the political elite and not the citizens of a country, so I struggle to see that as particularly hateful.
As for Amir Khan, for sure I'm not his biggest fan, but I don't hate him either. I was very angry about the Barrera result no doubt, but these days I just kind of play on the Khan hate thing. Go and look at recent Khan threads, I really don't see any vitriol there. Given time I come to accept a fighter for what they are. He is now fighting a puncher and that is good. If he wins I would like to see him step it up further. I don't regard that as particularly bitter or cynical. Every boxing fan wants to see a fighter try and better himself. I loathed Pac too, but quite like him now. Khan may very well do the same, but currently I am still rather lukewarm. If people do good things then I tend to treat with respect in turn. That goes for all things really, both people and states.
Anyway, I have jobs to apply for so I am out of here for a bit. Enjoy the film!![]()
