He's signed with DKP? So that means we only get to see him fight once a year and never reach his full potential while Don King is in the background of all his fights and press conferences talking about "my brother, proclimations oppression is overcomed, black rocky" etc references?
If any fighter signs with DKP they are a fool.
Lyle your hatred of Haye is totally ridiculous. He would absolutely destroy Solis. He had him all over the place when he was a skinny amateur and now Haye is a GENUINE HW that can bang hard and has learned to avoid shots (which is what cost him in the Ams). His speed is like nothing anyone else in the HW's has had for years.
Solis for me is not the fighter he was when he used to HAVE to make weight in the ams and ultimately the fact he doesn't have to make weight has cost him his pro career before it has even started really. He should be weighing 225ish and for me losing 40+ pounds to be in shape would have him leaving too much in the Gym. Surely you realise these facts.
Still an interesting fight though right? I mean sure Chicken Little has shown improvements since the amateurs and sure Solis has gotten big and fat...but the point remains Solis stopped him. It's interesting because they have history and a much more interesting history than Chicken little and Audley Harrison who used to share male modeling techniques and then had a falling out...this is BOXING not Dynasty! Solis got hurt, came back and won....will it be different or the same in the pros? People can answer however they want to but it's still interesting.
Solis would also be a good fight for Boytsov or Povetkin. They are interesting based on their skill level and all of them being undefeated. It would be nice for some contenders to fight and truly earn a title shot and actually have a chance at winning.
It's not as though Haye was hurt though. He was just too far behind on points to pitter patter punches. Haye had him really hurt and under the am rules that left the ref giving him a standing count. If it was a pro fight Haye would have finished him no doubt IMO.
The two have since gone in total opposite directions and it is clear too.
Chicken Little got a standing 8 count too....a couple in fact
IMO Haye wouldn't beat Solis easily, it'd be a 50/50 fight, don't forget Solis blasted out the same Barrett that Haye did, but he did it in 2 rounds with one punch, and he didn't get wobbled in the process
He's got very good skills, he's a dangerous puncher, but yes his tendency to be overweight is worrying to me.
At this point I DO NOT think signing with Don King is a bad deal for because Don King has very few viable options at heavyweight, outside of Solis he has: Valuev, Austin, Meehan, and I think he still has Shannon Briggs though I'm not sure. For that reason I think Don King will protect him and build him up a bit....although with Solis already being overweight signing with DKP could just allow Solis to become lazier and fatter.
Yeah but what worries me is that King has slowed down VERY much these last few years, his stable is damn thin and he's not promoting much cards, I understand the fact that he has, for many years now, been the master of the Queen's division but he's so inactive to find his few fighters a fight that it worries me a lot, especially because I like a lot Solis chances to do something in the division and what the guy needs is a bastard in his ass to make him train 7/7 till we see his abs, not a slag promoter resting on his ass and doing nothing.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
Very true, King isn't what he once was, which is why I think he'll pay special attention to grooming Solis for a title shot...you saw how he got Ruiz and Valuev to hold on to the WBA belt...some of those decisions were dodgy as fuck. Golota BEAT John Ruiz, no doubt in my mind!
