One example ive read recently is a post that suggested Hatton only fought aging over the hill fighters and the post had a list of his victims who the poster seemed to think anyone could have beaten at that point in their carears

But are there any fighters with a solid record? when i say solid i dont neccessarily mean without loss just very hard to pick holes in

before the margarito fight i used to think Cotto had beaten anyone and everyone he had had the chance to fight, all at the top of their game. Im not saying the margarito fight changed my mind but Cotto hasnt really been the same since and doesnt really look top of the world as he once did

It could be a double edged question i guess - eg Hattons record is not bad, in fact its very good, for a pro boxer 45-2 (32ko's), whereas most seem to be debating his resume/ opponents faced, which to me, the is a difference between the two.

Now look at Oscar De La Hoya's record of 39-6 (30ko's) and you would argue Hatton's is better for a pro boxer. Now look at the resume and clearly Oscar's is by far the better - these are just 2 examples of 2 boxers i've followed and respect.

One could look through long lists of boxers records, and to be fair, the records dont really reflect the boxers true standing due to opponents faced.

Here's one to look at, Sven Ottke - great or not ? went through his whole career without a pro loss yet villified by many as a boxer not willing to travel in fear of a loss, and gifted many decisions ( in my opinion ) in his home country !!
