It's hardly a meaningful fight though and Bute is hardly going to find a meaningful fight seeing as all the meaningful fighters are in the super 6. In that regard Bilbo is right, Bute did an okay job against another contender guy. The size difference was ridiculous. I don't know why Brinkley fights at SMW really. Calzaghe got stick for Manfredo, so Bute deserves his stick for not having meaningful fights too.

Bute is possibly very good, but it's hard to tell against these kind of mandatories and Kessler and Pavlik leftovers.

Thing is, Brinkley fought his way to earn this title shot, it was his time, his payday. Bute is simply staying busy fighting a mandatory. Bute's options are out of his control right now.

That's the problem with a multiple-year tournament like the Super 6. Bute needs to start fighting the guys who have dropped out though if they become available. I'd also like to see him fight Pascal.

Me too, Pascal would be a good fight. Nobody would have any complaints about that.

Pascal has really grown on me. I absolutely loathed him after the Miranda fiasco, but he showed a ton of heart vs. Froch and, like Froch, seems willing to fight anyone. At this point I think Pascal-Bute might even be a 50/50 fight.

Still not a particularly meaningful fight though, especially considering the depth that SMW has, but for sure that's not all completely down to Bute. All I am saying though is that on this fight Bilbo has a fair point. I've not read through all the threads today, so have a feeling Bilbo might have been winding up people elsewhere, but I haven't seen much trolling in this particular instance.

Nobody, but there is no harm in calling it for what it is.

I'm watching Mason Dixon too, next topic....

Aside from posting how great the Kindle is I've not made any other contributions to the forum this week. I expect Josh has run out of Newcastle Brown Ale.

Bute has got to fight Kessler or Pavlik next.

I'm not even a huge fan of his, I was cheering against him in both Andrade fights, but I think he's probably the 2nd best SMW right now. He just needs to step up and prove it.

Yeah, I wonder why he's even fighting really, he's a decent commentator, but he looks like he's gonna have a heart attack.

Damn only saw the last 4 rounds. Tarver looked good for 3 of them, but a bit rubbish in that last round.
