I stand by my accusation of fraud.
But surely you have to wait until the fight is a definite no-go to come to that conclusion. For instance, if Haye was to retire tomorrow...

Running his mouth off about how he's going to beat the Klitschko's is exactly what's keeping him in the limelight. He's a smart guy. It's a necessity for him to do that if he wants to sell out Arena's in the UK. Look at the difference between the Monte Barrett fight and the John Ruiz fight. They had to give tickets away for the Barrett fight and the attenddance was still less than 10k. The Ruiz fight sold out the MEN. The Harrison fight will also sell out.

The competition has stayed the same, but the tickets are selling. Now this is because Haye is a British, World Heavyweight champion, and because he's consistently very publicly called out the Klitschko's which does wonders for selling tickets. It increases interest in him and he knows that. So rather than say he is a fraud, i'd say he is actually pretty astute.

haye will always sell well ticket wise because he backs up his flashy attitude in the ring

i like the guy as a fighter but what constantly bugs me about him is that he speaks of himself as some established pro who has seen the world and back when in reality he is coming up to 30 and has barely 20+ fights to his name.

Nikolay valuev is his biggest scalp to date - that says a lot about how untested he has been

2 and a half years. Since around mid '08 Haye has called out the champ repeatedly and consistently. Fine this is a money making fight with Harrison, but let's say he fights 48 years old Holyfield at Wembley next, what's the excuse going to be? It's one thing to talk shit, but to talk shit constantly and not back it up is something else.

he`ll do what he always does

tell everyone a fight with klitschko was very close to happening but didnt because they wanted him to sign his life away yadda yadda yadda

he`ll then go on about evanders achievements and how he is fighting an all time legend completely leaving out the fact evander nowadays doesnt even know whether he is in a boxing ring or at home on the settee

Yeah but people aren't patient enough to give him chance to back it up. It's like people hang on every word he says and then end up upset over the fact he isn't fighting Klitschko next. It's all bullshit to sell fights. The Klitschko's are playing the same game. They're just less obvious with it.

When did the klits called out the legit champ for 2.5 years at the division, gets an opportunity and come up with numerous excuses? I might have missed that. And 2.5 years is more than enough time and patience. So what time period should we give Haye? 3 years? 4 years? 5 years? 7 years? When the Klits are too old or shot?

You know it and I know it, when Haye fights Holyfield at Wembley next, it will be all kinds of excuses such as it's a money making fight, Holyfield can do what Foreman did, Wlad offered a bad contract, wlad is a coward, blah blah blah.

Like i said it's more subtle. Inserting numerous clauses into a contract which they know Haye will turn down, and then saying they'd love to fight him. Then you have Vitali taking on Shannon Briggs and Wlad taking on Derek Chisora. Complete bankers. Almost zero chance of losing. Doesn't put the Haye fight into any sort of danger. Haye is doing the same thing.

It wouldn't surprise me if Haye did fight Holyfield next and it wouldn't surprise me if he billed it like he was fighting a prime rejuvinated Holyfield. I understand that that's how promotion works and Haye is good enough at it to sell himself to the UK market.

It still wouldn't make me think he is a fraud. He's doing what anyone else would do. Making big money for the easiest possible fight on the way to the biggest fight of them all. Of course he'll want to delay a Klitschko fight. They're not getting any younger. He probably even wants home advantage, and that's why it's in his interest to carry on defending his belt and filling arenas.

I would only consider him a fraud if he was genuinely convincing me he was definitely going to fight either Klitschko next. But he isn't. He's doing what anybody would do. Stop falling for his bullshit

NO the guy is a fraud. He calls himself the legit HW champ. Convinces the UK public that Wlad is a coward and that the fight with Harrison is a legit HW Championship fight. It's not. And please the Klit bros record at HW is massively better than Haye by far. Wlad has pretty much clean out the division. Has Haye fought a Peter or Chagaev or Arreola or any dangerous opponents? NO he hasn't. So I wouldn't call the Klit bros not fighting legit competition and just making money fights.

It's only his fans that are convincing other boxing fans that a Harrison fight is a legit HW championship fight. I think VD likes to call them deluded groupies.

A bit back on topic, but Mayweather senior needs a big smack in the face.

Floyd Mayweather, Khan, Hopkins, Green, Hayes and Carl Froch seem to cover this for now.
As I have said before, I recognize Floyd as talented but his mouth is tainted. Hayes never puts his money where his mouth is and Hopkins, what else can be added to arrogant and disrespectful? Maybe there's a job in politics for him. Khan just doesn't do it for the paying audience. Froch should polish his skills. Green? Who said he was worthy to fight for a title?
