I agree.... Shouldn't be getting outboxed by Graham Earl though, not on any night.......

He was coming of a long lay off and even then put Earl down, but the way he destroyed Thaxton was quality. Exciting fighter who has wasted his career. WTF!!!

I read a few months back on the Ring website, that he was in California sparring.

Here's the link Gym Notes: Angulo gets back to work

Romanov (21-2, 14 KOs) is a 27-year-old lightweight fringe contender from Belarus. He’s been inactive for almost two years due to contract dispute with his management and Russia-based promoter. Both fighters are trained by Ed Goumachian, who co-trains the Chudinov brothers.
On the question of whether or not he's world class...he certainly looked it against Bobby Vanzie who was 24-1-1 going into their fight. I got that fight on dvd...I'm not too familiar with Vanzie(maybe the British posters could help here) but he looked like the kind of guy that's hard to look good against but Romanov had him down 5 times and just beat the hell out of him from the opening bell.

what a waste 2 years out of your prime because of a contract dispute, he should have changed his name and shaved hi head and carried on and screw his manager.

vanzie was a good fighter but retire for religious reasons, his victory over stephen Smith was good.
