Just realized Lewis biggest comeback and biggest splat loss happened with eyes shut HA

one of my favs-worst was Kittakasem vs Jung koo Chang. Quincy Taylor vs Lonnie ( beasley ) was a brick. Love Carbajal but Arce shot had a bit of luck, if there is such a thing.

Jorge Castro's win over Jackson came from a pretty lucky punch

I can't think of any intentional lucky punches but I'm sure there are time when a fighter sparked a guy out when he actually had no intention to.

I dunno... Is there a mad incident where a guy knocked someone out with a 'don't-hit-me' type punch?

If that was done to the extreme, I'd definitely call it a lucky punch.

I'm surprised this thread never made it back after Manny's comments about the Marquez ko shot being lucky. Its ridiculous. I do not believe there is such a thing considering the sport and the desired outcome in a protect yourself at all times world. Some interesting responses here for examples that could be thought of as lucky but how do you qualify or quantify it? Can there be a lucky punch even in a street fight?

There is no such thing as a " lucky lunch " amongs elite fighters.

I do believe lucky punches happen in streetfights though between two guys who dont know how to fight. WHen both guys are swinging for the fences with their eyes closed and one of them happens to land, that's a lucky punch.

That victory came out of the blue.

I hate seeing the Julian Jackson KO, all Herol had to do was stay out of the way for that round and the other corner would have thrown the towel.

Just based on timing, these were "lucky" punches...

    JC Chavez-Meldrick Taylor

    Acelino Freitas-Jorge Barrios

Both JC and Freitas were behind on points and in both fights time was slipping away.

I guess you could add Marciano-Walcott in there but he set that punch up and timed it perfectly so I don't think its "lucky" that it landed or that it kept Walcott down.
