    boring
Maybe so. But it's true. There's no such thing as lucky punch. A "hail mary" punch is more appropriate.

Concepcion knocking down Lopez is a good example of hail mary punch.

Hearns-Barkley is a good one too.
    there is

Mercer's knockout win over Francesco Damiani is one some might say was "lucky". Mercer was way behind on points in the 9th round when he throws a wild left uppercut that almost missed...clipped Damiani right on the nose. It broke his nose and he stays down for the count.

Luck is when preparation and oppourtunity meet...

A fighter is prepared to throw a punch when the oppourtunity presents itself.

I know what you mean of a lucky punch but IMO the one's that have been listed I wouldn't consider lucky.

Some that "might" (and I type that with a huge emphasis on might) be lucky...
    Castro over Jackson
    Jefferson over Harris

No such thing you train for ten weeks to fight a guy get in the ring throw a punch that knocks him out look has nothing to do with it!

ill give you an example dude

next saturday night audley steps back, evades one of hayes big rights, then steps in to a perfectly executed and timed right cross, and lands perfectly on hayes chin, putting him down, haye doesnt get up

next saturday night audley is backed in a corner for the first 3 rounds, hes out of ideas, he takes a wild swing, haye slips slightly on the canvas, his gaurd drops and audleys glove connects with hayes chin, haye goes down and doesnt get up

would you say one of those punches is luckier than the other?

Good example and obviously one involves more 'luck' than the other but Audley has trained for a period to throw a punch that knocks Haye out, he throws punches hoping to knock Haye out and one does. well that's not luck thats a well executed plan.
