I used to give him the benefit of the doubt after the whole hand wrap fiasco since I really admired him back then and was rooting for him in his fights before Mosley. And I even felt genuinely sad for him when he lost to Williams. I always thought he epitomized the Mexican warrior who's heart always carries him through a fight no matter how much odds were stacked against him, win or lose. Sad that now I'm seeing who he truly is. Must be the beer talking but I've lost all respect for the Tijuana Tornado after his latest antics.

Exactly. I am not defending Margarito, but this is boxing and the above fighters have done just as outrageous things as Margarito has just done and they still have their fair share of admirers. He has acted like a tit, just as a lot of fighters do as well. I think it was that P4P ducker who stayed up until 5am to make a bunch of racial slurs just a few weeks back. Boxers are not always the most politically correct of types. Neither am I all the time either. All of us says or does something that crosses the line sometimes. I have impersonated a spastic more than once in my life, though not on camera and certainly not in front of an actual spastic. It's a pretty good impression actually, but not something I have done in about a decade.

The whole playing on the handwraps thing does go too far as Margarito has done his time for it. It is the Margarito team that should be trying to move away from that if anything. A harmless impression is fair game for a juvenile mind and a bit of time on his hands, but talking about handwraps and threats of actual violence using them, not such a gag. A mixed bag for me really. Rios comes across as a bit mindless and you sense that he is the kind of guy that needs boxing. Take that away and you likely have a seriously loose cannon.

True, but the greater percentage of fighters and corners dont go there its minority, we are trying to hold up boxing as a respectable sport to the masses. Thats why this stuff rubs against the grain of the majority of people both in and out of the sport.
