I've just watched the weigh in, Marg did not look weight drained in the slightest and looked in better shape than Manny. I wad very impressed with how well Conditioned Margarito looked.

The size difference was blatant as well. This is going to be a very difficult fight for Pac, I think Marg has trained harder for this fight than any in his life.

I might put a cheeky few quid on Pac getting stopped.

Yes Marg does look in great shape, this does appear to be dangerous.

I just think you cheat and then you have that advantage taken away from you then you're going to feel the effects of it in a negative way. Think about it something that used to be such a certainty like Margarito being able to stand and trade with anyone and his pressure melting the will of his opponent being turned into a question mark like can Tony still hit hard with regular gloves and wraps? Did he NEED those wraps? And Margarito WILL ask himself those questions it may not be the first time he hits Manny but he'll ask himself if he's truly good enough and IMO the answer will come back the same as it did vs Mosley, NO he's not.

That could be the thing, like Mosley, but in a different fight as well, against PBF. He threw his best shots, then got disheartened when he realised they weren't going to be enough.

Where as Pac just throws tornado punches from all angles constantly. Normally he's got te fitness to do it all night. Normally......

I personally am disgusted by catch weights. If you are fighting for 154 pound title...then don't limit your opponent to kill himself to try to come in at 150...it cheapens the whole thing. YES...the opponent ultimately agrees to the catch weight...but man up and fight people at the natural weight. Otherwise...i don't see how you fight for and call yourself a 154 pound titlist...when you fought someone at a 150 pound limit?!! I am not a Tony fan at all...he is a cheat, no question. But i hope he wins this fight. Roach and Pac need to have their bubble burst. It's not going to happen...but i am hoping for the upset.

I don't mind one fighter fighting below a divisional weight though. If they want to take the risk, so be it. Its hard to frame that as an advantage, speed notwithstanding. If the speed produced by low weight really cancels out the power and size advantages of a heavier boxer, then why have divisions at all?

I do wonder why Pac is willing to fight Margaito at JrMW but not Mosley or Williams at Welter? If he's willing to go all the way up to JrMW, why not just fight the biggest Welters out there? I know Williams is 6' 1" but Pac could just demand he weigh in on the day of the fight. That would be fairer, and probably more effective, than demanding a lowering of the divisional weight limit.

Guy this has been uncovered already. Roach likes to drain fighters just enough to give Manny the edge to win.
Well, the examples cited contradict your narrative, no? If Roach wants to drain Margarito, why let him weight in the night before at 150? Wouldn't it be better to fight at welter (147) and demand a weigh-in the day of the fight?

And why avoid Williams? He's bigger and therefore more susceptible to being drained. Make Williams come down to Welter (he's willing) and also demand a same-dayer (entirely justified requirement).

PacMan will be fighting a Margarito who's likely to weigh 160+ in the ring while Pac will be 146ish. That's pretty brave any way you cut it. Margarito's fought at 147 for all his big bouts. Now he gets 3lbs more of leeway.

Therefore Roach isn't really draining Margarito of energy, he's filling him up.

I agree, all this draining talks about pacman vs margarito is nonsense because margo is really used to fight at 147 limit. So being at 150lbs is really very very advantageous to him. People who likes to follow strict weight limits (which is just invented anyway by some so called experts) would argue but really anyway you see it, this 151-lb proposed day before fight limit is in Margarito's advantage.

That's fair, but Marg was out for a year and possibly couldn't make 147 anymore. If its okay to fight him at 150 why not just allow him to weigh in at 154? They're both within the limit. Same as Roach was willing to face Cotto at 144 but wanted shane to go to 142. Same as facing oscar at 147 but not cotto. If he were to face PW it would be t something like 154 which would ask, why not face Marg at 154? Look man either face the guys at their optimal weight or stop with the bullshit. Those guys trying to make weight does more damage than pac coming in in top form.
