i thought it was a good stoppage, Katsidis was taking full blown accurate shots to the head and not throwing back, just watch how on top of it Bayless was, i mean he almost jumped in like 3 times in the 9th, and was close to stopping it in the 8th, Katsidis has nothing to be ashamed of, he went in there and fought like a warrior even dropping Marquez and pushing him to the limit, i'm pretty sure he made his brother proud, and honestly apart from Marquez i actually thing Katsidis beats Soto, Guerrero, and pretty much anyone else not named Marquez at 135, too strong and it was quite clear that he's improved since his losses to Casamayor and Diaz, Marquez is a first ballot hall of famer and honestly i hold him in the same light as Hopkins, what i mean by that is right when you think the guy might be slipping he puts on a superb performance against a younger willing and able opponent, no one beats him at 135 and Brandon Rios better just tuck tail and avoid him if he doesn't want his career ruined

Bro, Brandon Rios is a HUGE lightweight, at the Pac-Marg undercard he came in the ring weighing 157 lbs. at fight night. I think He is one of those guys that drain themselves to fit in a weightclass to have that physical advantage at fight night. Like Vic Ortiz, Brandon Rios I think should be fighting as welterweights as of the moment.

I haven't rewatched it yet, but i thought it was a good stoppage. Michael Katsidis got beat up for atleast 50 seconds without throwing back.

I thought good stoppage too. The outcome wouldn't have changed at all if it had gone on other than to remove the T off the KO.

Marquez had already got up from the best KAt had thrown at him ,that wasnt going to happen again at that stage; Jms chin was the same, Kat wasnt the same at that stage.

Standing 8? Fucking idiot. The stoppage was fine. On point. Katsidis threw like what 2 punches that whole round? He was taking to many flush shots. At least 3 times his head snapped back violently. He was done. The fight in itself was one-sided. Except for 15 seconds in round 3 Marquez dominated the fight. Bayless is an outstanding referee. He made the right call. That fight goes any longer and Michael is hanging with his brother.

the reason why it was over for katsidis and he had no hope of even landing a haymaker in that last round was because marquez had taken his legs away by attacking his body so violently in the earlier rounds. not to mention his face was busted up by marquez' crisp combinations. you could tell by the 7th round or so, katsidis' punches had nothing on them because of marquez' body attack.

Kenny Bayless is still my favorite ref, he is just on top of the action.
He doesn't mind getting a little close, but knows when to back up.
He also doesn't mind giving "hard" warnings like he did against Shane in the 8th round against Mayweather.

I can understand how some of you think Katsidis should have gotten a standing 8 before the stoppage but in truth Katsidis was just going to absorb more brutal combinations...His only chance was a money shot from no where...In truth more refs should take such initiative....Katsidis has nothing to be ashamed of and he fought like a true warrior.

    SEVERE EDIT----

I truly made a mistake and used General Bulldogs name because I had replied to a post he had made when it was Milmascaras post I was actually reading and meant to reply to....SO GEN BULLDOG I REALLY AM SORRY FOR SUCH A BONEHEAD MOVE

    SEVERE EDIT----

Because of the dis-satisfaction of Violent Demise because I used the term standing 8 instead of saying "I can understand how some people think Bayless should have taken time to check Katsidis to see if he was still able to continue before stopping it"....I truly apologize for it....GeneralBulldog in all his boxing wisdom (Well thats believable if you don't go back and read the history of his post" pointed out in such a gentlemen like manner about my not having any boxing knowledge because I used a term about a rule that does not exist in the unified rules anymore loosely not meant to be actuality....I want to thank them both for all their wisdom....I want to thank VD (A name given to him by those hoes he handles I am sure) and The Bullmiester for setting me straight.

In their honor I will now and forever refer to dirty public restrooms Vd's and Bulldogs!!!

Thanks you top notch fellows now I can sleep at night knowing you will always be there to set me straight..

As for anyone else who may be new to being a fan of boxing or to these boards please in the future pay no mind to anything I post because it is more then likely wrong and I would not want you to be called Fucking Idiot or be mocked by GB because of anything I posted.
I don't know wtf you're talking about since none of my posts for months now has been directed at you.
