Default Upset of the Year...so far

Apologies if this has been done recently.

Two off the top of my head.

Gilberto Keb Baas - Boxer over Omar Nino Romero - Boxer

Jason Litzau - Boxer over Celestino Caballero - Boxer

    Anymore upsets

    What's your pick?

I gotta go with Caballero-Litzau. Caba looked like garbage last night against a C+fighter.

It was a mild upset but it was more the way it ended, Paul Williams vs Martinez was probably the most shocking fight I have seen this year.

Martinez vs Pavlik was a big one, and wasn't Arreola vs Adamek this year, well that should qualify as well

How is the Arreola-Adamek fight in the running for Upset of the year?

Upset, ok I'll give you that. But of the year?
I for one would have bet my life on Adamek.
There was no way the Michelin Man was gonna beat Adamek.

it wouldn't be my pick for Upset of the Year, but it should be mentioned i had Adamek as my pick as well, but there were a lot of people who were saying that he had bitten off a bit more than he could chew, so that's why i thought it was worth a mention, my pick is Litzau's win over Caballero as well

concerning the chris arreola/tomasz adamek fight, i was glad to see arreola get his butt kicked. adamek is a true warrior in every sense of the word. he comes to fight and takes his job seriously, unlike arreola who it seems barely trains and comes into his fights out of shape. hope adamek can win a world heavyweight title soon. chris arreola will probably not amount to anything other than an overweight buffoon.

I think Litzau beating Caballero is gonna be upset of the year.

Other ones listen weren't really 'upsets' as there was always a chance and people were picking both sides.

In terms of an upset, Litzau, he was 14-1 right? That's a pretty huge huge upset these days.

Kaizer Mabuza over Kendall Holt deserves a mention.

My pick would be Litzau over Caballero. I'm not 100% sure but oddswise that's gotta be the biggest upset of the year.

    Arreola vs Adamek was ever

Martinez v Pavlik - Pavlik was 2:1 favorite.

LItzau was a 13:1 underdog in Caballeros fight. No way you don't give that guy the nod for upset of the year. He fought a fantastic fight, and he knew by the tears at the end that he had overcome something HUGE. Hats off to him.

Segura v Colderan was not really an upset. I think most people picked Segura in that fight. Colderan was there for the taking. He had just gone life and death with Iribe twice in a row. People get too hung up on the no loss thing too much.

Agreed. Litzau beat a legitimate world class fighter. Caballero was finally in with a guy his size and he didn't know how to handle it. Hats off to Litzau - he earned himself another good pay day with that victory.
