I have a couple of questions. What is the financial penalty from Showtime if AA quits the Super Six? What is the procedure if a fighter quits the tournament due to medical reasons in order to avoid any type of financial penalty from Showtime? Does Showtime have one of their doctors evaluate the boxer?

They can't force him to fight. Taylor and Dirrell quit on medical grounds so it must be easy for a guy coming off two one-sided losses to get a doctors note.

In the harsh business of boxing he is currently worth shit. Selling Abraham vs anyone could only be done to a German market at the moment. I doubt they're that concerned he has pulled out

No...there hasn't been any official statement that AA did or will quit the super six,but apparently the executive manager of Sauerland Chris Meyer wants some answers to what happend with AA during training and the fight...there is an appointment for next week for an conversation between the two...
But it looks like AA did prepare for this fight rather badly...that idiot...

It's better for the tournament if he does pull out.

The semi finals are a ridiculous idea anyway imo, having Andre Ward fighting a guy who has lost his last two fights, and Froch against an old war horse, the wrong side of 40 who wasn't even one of the original replacements let alone original competitor.

It's Froch vs Ward for the final. Anything else is just farce.

Really disappointed not seeing him carry on, but there is no way he wins it.
    Would love to see Johnson/Abraham.

It would be silly for Abraham to pull out. He is walking into a guaranteed world title fight with Ward. If he leaves where else is he going to get that opportunity having been owned twice in a row.

i hope AA stays in the tournament because there is more chance 2 more bog fight nights involving Carl Froch

if he drops out and Froch faces Ward in the final, thats only 1 for defo

    I love big fight nights

I think it would be a sensible idea. He must know there is no way he beats Ward, especially going into it at the lowest point of his career.

If he moves back to middleweight there are guys like Felix Sturm and Sebastian Slyvester who hold world titles. I'm sure Abraham can still beat those guys.

    Arthur Abraham Update

Former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham told BILD that he’s just not a super middleweight. “The others are simply larger. I’m always the smallest,” he stated. King Arthur added that he will still be challenging Andre Ward for the WBA super middleweight title in the Super Six semi-final and will remain with trainer Uli Wegner.

I actually agree here and then the winner face Bute. However, Johnson v. Froch could be a fun fight to watch too.
