then there is marquez. sure he's 37 years old but he can still fight. besides, he just beat a young, strong fighter in katsidis very impressively last saturday night. and out of all of pacquiao's opponents with the exception of the first morales fight, he's the one who's done more damage to pacquiao by outboxing him thoroughly and winning a big majority of the rounds.

but now pacquiao has chosen shane mosley as his next opponent? excuse me but isn't this cherry picking at it's finest? mostly WAS a great fight but his time is over. he can't move like he once could. why is pacquiao going after this guy?

okay, if pacquiao is afraid to fight marquez a third time because marquez has his number, why not go after a younger guy like andre berto? other websites are pissed off at pacquiao and bob arum for taking such a nice "easy" fight against a once great fighter but one who is too old and washed up.

many boxing fans are starting to call manny pacquiao, duckquiao and i think he definitely deserves this.
I'll explain it. Mosley and Marquez are big names; Berto isn't. Moreover, Berto is too green. Berto couldn't sell any tickets if his life depended on it. In Berto's only step up in competition against Collazo, he barely scraped by. Berto needs a big fight (or two) to get into the limelight and make it worth it for a Pacquiao or Mayweather to fight him.

Pacquiao wants to fight at 147 because at this point his team feels that is where he's most effective. Nothing wrong with that. If Pacquiao fought Marquez at 147, people would say that it is unfair to Marquez because Marquez was ineffective the one time he ventured above 135. In my opinion, its not that Marquez is ineffective above 135, its that he is unproven above 135. In a perfect world, Marquez would fight Mosley and the winner would fight Pacquiao. Is the money that different for Mosley and Marquez that fighting Pacquiao is more worth it than fighting eachother?

Will someone explain to me why Timothy Bradley isn't the best candidate out there? He meets every criticism put on Pacquiao recently: He's black, he's young/in his prime, he's been on HBO a bunch, and he'll be at his most recognized after he beats Alexander in January, and to top it off, he's proved effective at 140 and 147.
IMO Tim Bradley will not have the power to bother PAC, nor the defense to keep PAC off him. Berto, Mosely and Martinez are the scary ones IMO.
