all this crap about whom did better against whom really is a mute point when we're talking about pacquiao and mayweather jr. because when they do fight, mayweather jr. is going to win hands down. he's going to dominate pacquiao like he's dominated all his opponents, give or take a couple. pacquiao, while he's a great offensive fighter, has no defense and that's going to be his undoing against the ultra smart, ultra quick and the ultra counter puncher, mayweather jr.. until pacquiao fights somebody not drained, old, slow etc...he's always going to have his doubters. there's a reason why roach and arum have not put him in with younger, in their prime boxers. and that's because they know pacquiao has limitations too, and they're just trying to make as much money with him, which isn't such a bad idea. but still, until he beats young, in their prime strong bucks, i will always say he's been carefully pitted against fighters who he has great advantages over. case in point, instead of picking a young, strong, powerful fighter like andre berto, instead of testing marquez again, they take the safe route again against an old, way out of prime mosley. boxing fans and boxing writers are beginning to see this pattern and it's starting to hurt pacquiao's credibility as the GOAT!!!

You've seen me post it many times, I think the fight that would give Pacquiao the most credibility is one against Tim Bradley even if it is at 147.

It doesn't make any sense to fight Andre Berto now. We've gone over this before. He doesn't sell any tickets and he hasn't won a sufficiently big fight to deserve a Pacquiao fight. In his biggest fight, against Collazo, he fell far short of a dominating performance. He needs a couple of big wins.

Marquez needs to win a big fight at 140 or 147 at this point. Then he should fight Pacquiao. This is because he was humiliated in his one trip North of 140. If he wanted the Pacquiao fight so badly, he should have chosen a top opponent at 140 or 147 for his last fight. I understand it was his mandatory, but if he wanted to fight the best guy in the world at 147, why not just vacate the belt and fight someone at 140 or 147? Why didn't he call out Shane? Instead he chose to remain at 135, which leads me to believe that his team doesn't think he is effective above lightweight. Marquez should call out Amir Khan or Tim Bradley. He beats one of them and there is no argument that he deserves the Pacquiao fight. Agreed?

Who is a better opponent for Pacquiao at 147 - Shane or Marquez? I'm not sure. They each have their positives and negatives. I will say this until I see Marquez beat someone notable above 140: at 147, Shane would beat Marquez.

Milmascaras, Hatton in his prime was better than Kastidis in his prime and Juan Diaz in his prime. Not even a question. Don't forget that Hatton did better against Mayweather than Marquez did. Hatton actually won a couple of rounds. Marquez didn't win one second of one round. Literally. I like Marquez too, but that was one crappy performance. No two ways about it.

What you're saying is that Marquez could beat Hatton at 140 or 147 now, yet at the same time, you say Pacquiao must come down in weight to fight Marquez. Explain that please.
thing is Pacquiao didn't beat Hatton in his prime either, only Floyd did that

But, Floyd didn't fight Hatton at Hatton's best weight. He fought him at 147. Pacquiao fought Hatton at 140. There were only two years difference between the fights with Floyd and Pacquiao and Hatton was coming off a strong victory over Malignaggi.
