The big fighta lined up for Donairre were the Japanese champions who are not interested in meeting Donairre because they dont recognize the IBF. No mystery in that.

Found it quite hilarious that he refused to give up his IBF title and travel to Japan. But had no problem giving it up to face the 13-3 Rafael Concepcion.
NOt only that but the money is quite good from Japan fighting there. I forgot where I read it, but Montiel got something like 500k for fighting Hasegawa and this is a 118 pound fight. You ain't getting that kind of money fighting in the US on HBO or Showtime for the lower weights that's for sure.

So in trying to keep the useless IBF trinket Donaire also cost himself lucrative paydays and being able to get in with good competition.
