at boxingscene.com, there is an article about montiel saying he hopes donaire doesn't back out of their february fight because he's been trying to fight donaire for the last three years and everytime, donaire backs out, like he usually does.

The Fight is a done deal and is scheduled for February, Some of the people here might learn more if knowledgeable people would discuss the fight and not speculations on fighters canceling or backing out.

Donairre's chin is untested as Vic failed to land his money left on him (or any other fighter). If Montiel can land his bread and butter left hook its possible that Donairre gets kayoed like Hasegawa but Feather fisted Z Gorres pretty much outboxes Montiel in the first half of their match. I think Nonito does better and either gets a UD or a KO late.

credit for what? winning a fight? of course we're going to give him his props but even if donaire does beat montiel, he'll probably revert to fighting used up midgets again. the bantamweight division has some really good fighters like abner mares, agbeko, yonnhy perez, anselmo moreno, koki kameda, and even vic darchinyan. let him beat some of these cats then we can call him fantastic.

If Montiel backs out, and there are signs that he will as was the issue in the past, numb skulls will find a way to blame it on Donaire regardless of documentation nor legit publication to state otherwise, I can even see them go as far as make it look like it is Nonito who had problems summoning courage to make the fight.

The silver lining to this is.....we have a short supply of these slugs, and their low number will never pose a problem in contaminating sane and healthy discussions here!

That said, I really hope this fight happens and that these two men settle once and for all who the superior one really is and who really is only on a "pretend mode".
