i know what you mean, but lately the way i see it is, if sports writers and people from the media can get into the BHOF, why shouldn't Stallone? i mean if you really think about it everyone who's not a hardcore boxing fan associates boxing with the Rocky movies, the Rocky theme is now iconic as is his montage run up the stairs, i wouldn't doubt a bit that there have been dudes who've become interested in the sport just cause of the Rocky movies, also add in Stallone's work with The Contender series which did up to a certain point bring boxing back into the mainstream a bit, yet i do think there are others more deserving
It's fine he got inducted. Sounds a little silly when one hears it, but he's done as much for the sport as anyone possibly could without being a fighter or directly involved in it. It's not like the hall is exclusively reserved for fighters/trainers there is already others in there.

I think Stallone is a great addition. How can anyone argue against the Rocky film's contribution to boxing?
It's called the Boxing Hall of Fame, not the Boxers Hall of Fame.
It's to honour people of all associations to the sport, fighters, trainers, promoters, cutmen, matchmakers, referees, commentators, sports writers etc.
People get honouray degrees from universities, this is the same sort of thing.
Very good and worthy addition and will make for a tremendous weekend for those lucky enough to attend. Rocky and Tyson together, for most of us that's our childhood hero's. That's an awesome awards ceremony for any fightfan to go to.![]()
