Agreed Floyd Mayweather Jr was considered, a puncher at Super Featherweight. When he sits down on his shots, opponents always say he hits alot harder than you expect. Just like Pernell Whitaker when he sat down on his shots, was quite a hard puncher aswell amazingly.

exactly, both guys give up a bit of their power so that they can commit more to speed and their defense, it's clear in the Mosley fight that Floyd was landing pretty damn hard shots and that Mosley was feeling the full effect of them

I dont know guys. Featherfisted? Of course not. He's exceptionaly accurate and a sharp shooter but Ive never seen anything above average power from him. He's a pretty puncher...not a big one really. At Spr feather, early on he wasnt exactly flattening a whos who.

If a guy chooses to ease off in order to shine longer,or just not press ko....Marquez,Vargas,Baldo ? and not punch thru a target in order to utilize speed, defense thats on him. Hurt hands,I know. Doing it is one thing, having opponents say it is another?

thing is i compare Mayweather to Jones (at lightheavy onwards) in that he was happy just getting the win, both completely dominate their opponents for at minimum 10 rounds of the 12, and are at points on the verge of stopping the guy, then they just seem to ease up, to me Jones/Trinidad and Mayweather/Marquez seemed a lot alike in the fact that both guys could have gotten the stoppage, yet they CHOSE to ease up and go the distance
