Miles is a fool, he talks about being this good guy, pleasant shit but he backs Maidana up on this shit. Maidana clearly acted like a prick. I like him before this fight now I want somebody to knock his bitch ass out. He threw that fxcking elbow intentionally and thats why he didnt say shit after Cortez deducted a point.

haha that is true, Miles is all against standing up against foul play and enforcing strict professional, honest conduct with integrity except when it comes to people he doesn't like.

Trying to elbow Amir in the face right in front of the referee is fine. Students smashing up government propery over fees protests is an acceptable expression of anger, and Palestians hurling stones at Israeli cars, or missles as Israeli towns is again no less than they deserve.

Amir winning a fight against a cut Barrera was a moral outrage however and an example of all that is bad in boxing and the world..

    Exactly
Absolute bullshit, the both of you.

If you look at the replay you see that the elbow was nowhere near Khan's face. In fact all we really saw was an elbow making an impact on Cortez. It should have been a warning and then if he had done it again then you take a point away. Is that so bad? If someone makes a mistake it is usual to give them a chance. Maidana made a mistake in this instance but it did not warrant a point deduction. If there is injustice then for sure I will say something about it. At no point have I ever said it is okay to elbow the referee, but at the same time we see fighters getting away with an awful lot more in an awful lot of fights. In this instance a warning would have sufficed.

It was unneccessary as was Cortez's constant interference in the final 3rd of the fight. Bullshit officiating does ruin boxing and Cortez is in the middle of it all too often. Jay Nady is another one. Situations like what we saw in the Mayweather-Hatton fight, Barrera-Khan, Barrera-Marquez and again in this one, do nothing but detract from an otherwise potentially very interesting fight. There is no total satisfaction in any of these results because of the impact that poor officiating had. Let's take the Marquez-Barrera fight and let's say Barrera's knockdown was scored. That would have led it to being an even better fight than what we got and even if Barrera had lost, we could all have stood back and said "wow". But as it stands that poor officiating left it's awful stamp all over the fight.

These poor decisions hurt boxing and I am quite sure that I am not alone in thinking this. I thought Khan did an excellent job, but I also thought Maidana ended up making the biggest impact as he overall busted Khan up pretty badly. And because I think Maidana gave a valid account of himself and don't think the deduction was justified have muppets like Rains calling me names and ranting like an imbecile about the evils of Maidana. He's just a fighter, what do you expect? For Maidana to take it a step further and kiss Khan at the end of every round? This is boxing.

As for you Bilbo, leave the politics for the other board. Rains most likely had no idea what you were talking about anyway.
