No, I think I was off in that comment and I apologise to all the MODS. I have had a tough evening and have fallen apart somewhat.

I think I am right about the elbow, but I have no good reason to be rude to anybody.

I think the point deduction is well deserved. He deserved to lose a point for not connecting with Cortez' chin in a solid manner.

For the record, I think that Cortez did a pretty bad job, I just think there is some justification for the point deduction.

Maidana was hitting on the break often before the point deduction. The elbow was rather blantent so no prior warrning for the elbow was necessary, not only because of the deliberate foul, but in response to his previous warnings and unsportman like attitude from the onset of the fight. So I believe the deduction was completely justified.

What's funny is that as soon as it happened I said to Miles in the live rbr board that he should be happy as that will give him a bone of contention that he can insist was both wrong and cost Maidana the fight.............

I blame the Jews for Maidana losing it and Cortez for reffing the fight.

Bilbo if people are voting that way then fair enough. I disagree but if people vote a certain way then so be it.

    The point deduction was bullshit.

Maidana was clearly just trying to touch gloves with Amir Khan.

    I think that's a fair perspective.

haha and couldn't tell his fist from his elbow, or for that matter Amir's face from Cortez's chest.

I ain't surprised Cortez took some kind of shot, foul or not. He was jumping right in there while Maidana was swinging all over the place. A point deduction was justified.....just.

What if that elbow hit Khan or Cortez in the eyebrow or forehead. A single elbow strike is not that fataly dangerous but it can cause severe laceration. That could have ended the fight early.
