Merchant doesn't control the interviews, they have directors and a ton of backroom staff in charge of that, the broadcast must have been overrunning so they had to cut it short

Didn't think of that, so if thats the case I take that back about Larry, shame on HBO really suppose it was better than Primetime after the Froch fight with no interviews.

Dan Rafael wrote about this. As noted above, HBO producers made that call, not Merchant. They wanted time to preview their uncoming programs.

Pretty lame, after such a great fight.
