I heard good reviews. I'm gonna check it out this monday.

Will go see it once I get back from Montreal, here in Joliette they just play the french version and from the trailer I've seen, it removes a LOT from the movie on the credibility side, in Mtl it shall be.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
It was a fella named Mike Mungin. He apparently was a last minute opponent after Saul Mamby was too sick with the flu to fight, and this Mungin guy weighed 165 to Ward's 146.
Here is a link to the guy on boxrec:
Mike Mungin - Boxer
Boxrec certainly contradicts both the weight that the guy fought Ward at and the time period in which he fought Ward.
In the movie, he weighed 165 and fought Ward in 1993 or so, when Ward was on a 3 fight losing streak. On Box rec he weighed 136 and fought Ward when Ward was 18-1.

Saw it last night...
Really good strongly recommend it.
I agree with Hulk, Bale did an outstanding job in the role.
The movie was interesting, funny and allover just a really good film.

I know as a boxing fan, some of the inaccuracy's will bug you (such as ward becoming the "welter weight champion"), however, it was a really good movie. Bale was awesome, and there were actually many funny parts, with Bale's character, and ward's sisters.
4 stars.

I got a copy of this last night. Glad I watched it, really good film. All the characters are well portrayed.
The fights are decent too. Micky's brother was a loon!!

Yeah same as the Judah fight...Ward hurt Judah to the body a few times despite losing a wide decision.

My favorite part of the movie is when Dicky cant find his car and is late to training, and he goes eff it, I need the roadwork and starts running to the gym.![]()
