"Hey Ross... I got your bad shoulder right here."

Hes probably gonna be knackered for a wank with that shoulder after the fight? Maybe you Two could offer your services, you sound like a pair of wankers
the fact that you're hoping Cotto has a bum shoulder proves that you're hoping Cotto goes into the fight anything but 100% cause that's the ONLY way Mayorga has any chance hahahaha you're pathetic ross

I am a fan of both fighters, admittedly more so of Mayorga.

I agree with Ross that Mayorga is being under sold here, but unlike Ross I do not dislike Cotto or wish him ill will.

Spoken like a true gentleman and a good boxing fan.

Thank you I like to think I am a good boxing fan. But a true gentleman...I don't know about that.
see Hulk i have no prob with you, why? cause yea you are a Mayorga fan, a die hard Mayorga fan at that, but you back him with respect, plus you know damned well what Cotto is capable of cause you have actually seen his fights

i would be able to watch the fight with you and we'd be cool as shit lol no probs, both backing up our fighter, but with ross, i'd just piss in his face laughing once Cotto got the victory hahaha

Why thank you. Are you single ?

Seriously tho I know what Mayorga is NOT capable of, especially after the Oscar fight 5 years ago. I was not such a mature Hulk then, and I was delusional about Mayorga's chances in hindsight.

I think Mayorga has a real shot against Cotto, but clearly Cotto is still the favored fighter due to age, boxing ability and being more active against better fighters.

    Still... VIVA MAYORGA !!!
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Mayorga is what he is. A big strong powerful awkward marauding brawler with an excellent chin. This I believe, beats Cotto.

Mayorga has the benefit of that recent fight (a luxury he hasn't had for 6 or 7 years) making him sharp and having 3 months to lose only about 6 pound! Whereas Cotto will have been out 9 months and has a dodgy shoulder.

Thinking about it. Mayorga has been training on and off nearly the whole of the past year, as he had an mma fight scheduled and was training ready for a shot at Sturm since the mma fight. He mentioned an upcoming title challenge in Germany during an interview at a training session for the mma fight.

you keep going on about the shoulder as if it was that big of a deal, we're not talking about a Vernon Forrest (RIP) type shoulder injury, it wasn't major surgery, and it was in his right shoulder i believe, Cotto hasn't fought in 9 months but before that he fought Foreman, Pacquiao, and Clottey, where as Mayorga fought Michael "WHO THE FUCK IS HE" Walker, a guy who was already stopped by the likes of Lee and Guerrero, both KO'd him earlier than Mayorga (Lee in 8 and Guerrero in 2), and yes that's the same Lee who was KTFO by Vanda and is set to fight Duddy, and the same Guerrero who basically got a gift decision against Ishe Smith , all Cotto needs is his left hand to beat Mayorga, and his surgery went just fine, so like i said, keep hoping that his shoulder gives him probs, cause that's the only way Ricardo Mayorga has any type of shot at winning this

Mayorga is a welter that dropped Walker. Lee didnt drop him.

The injury and the lay off will effect how long it takes Cotto to get his sharpness back in training then comes the fight. It will have been a long time since hes had anyone hit him hard and often like Mayorga will. Even Steward has said recently that Mayorga will be dangerous early and I think because of this long period of training and having fought recently that he wont tire as early if at all as he normally does. Thats been his downfall these last few years, hes been inactive too long, he needs fitness for his way of fighting. Regardless of the world calibre of Walker, hes still a natural middle that Mayorga dropped and stopped and he gave Mayorga those valuable rounds.

In fact, it wouldnt surprise me if King purposefully chose Walker as a warmup opponent for Mayorga knowing full well a fight with Cotto was on the cards. I reckon he had a call from Arum months ago for it. Walker is the same height as Cotto and has the same high guard and being a natural middle will have better resiliance than Cotto without offering enough offence to seriously trouble Mayorga.

just because Walker is a natural middleweight doesn't equal that he has better resilience, his defense was non-existent and he had little to no movement, all of Cotto's dangerous punches come from the left, his jab, and his devastating hook both downstairs and upstairs, Mayorga fought a tailor made opponent who had no speed and horrid footwork, hell his biggest accomplishment was a majority win against Echols and that was when Echols was already at Journeyman status

Cotto has speed, defense, and overall better movement, he'll be able to outbox Mayorga and keep him away by just boxing him, thing is Mayorga will feel Cotto's punches and he'll get broken down as the fight goes on, especially with the body work, Margarito most likely had loaded gloves but even if we say he didn't his reach was massive at 73" and he is 5'11 that's a good 4 inches taller compared to the 2 inches Mayorga has on him, Cotto only started tiring after the broken nose which allowed Margarito to get some body shots in plus Margarito puts his punches together better than the wild Mayorga, Pacquiao used punch output, speed, and movement to break down Cotto and again Cotto had NO corner, either way Mayorga has none of those factors in his favor, he's slow, usually doesn't have that high of a punch output, he has low connect percentages and well his movement is a joke, i'll stick to my Cotto KO prediction and let you just ramble on
