Agree. I want to see him fight Bute win or even if lost against Glen Johnson. Bute v. Froch would be a great fight for boxing.
Yeah, I agree totally. Bute needs to step up and I've become a pretty big Froch fan over the last little while. It's a fight that has to happen. I wonder if Bute would take it if Froch lost or it he'd just hold out for the eventual winner.
Unless Kessler is back, Froch is the biggest fight for Bute at 168 if Froch loses. In fact, I bet Bute tries his hand at the losers of the S6 next round. At 168, the losers of the S6 are still the best super middleweights out there.
I hope so, but he might be content to sell out the Bell Centre against mediocre opposition while waiting for the winner. I think he's anxious to step up though.
He left HBO to sign with Showtime though. That means to me that he wants to face a step up in competition. Brain Magee certainly isn't it, but that fight is occuring in March, around the time that Froch and Ward face Johnson and AA. It would make sense, barring injuries in the fights, for Bute to face one of the losers of the Froch and Ward matches. The problem is that if AA is destroyed by Ward, which we agree in all likelihood will happen, I bet he drops down to 160 or takes a break from boxing for a while, and if Froch beats Johnson, which is also more likely than not, I doubt Bute would face Johnson because of their friendship.

It is utterly ridiculous to downplay the worth of Froch's opposition when comparing it with Bute's. Every fighter on Froch's list would beat Bute's opposition.
Froch has faced better competition than Bute hands down. Actually, Froch has faced better competition than any boxer at 168 including Ward. And really if you think about it, Froch has faced better competition than most boxers out there in his last five fights, save maybe, Sergio Martinez and other top p4p boxers.
    Ward's last 5:

    Bika
    Green
    Kessler
    Pudwill
    Miranda

Bute and Ward have comparable cv's. Ward's best win is better than Bute's best win, but Bute's wins overall are on par, if not better, than Ward's.

As you all know, I'm a Bute fan, and I believe he poses stylistic problems for Froch. I've also become a Froch fan. Froch had problems with Dirrell who moved and was faster than him and he had problems with Taylor because he was faster than him. Bute will be faster than him too and more accurate than both Taylor and Dirrell. But, Froch is a tough cookie, I wouldn't count him out of this fight, and Froch fights all twelve rounds, Bute has shown in the past, some weakness in stamina. The final rounds could be very interesting. In fact, I think the fight is a close match, which is why I would love to see it.

I think the fight with Glen Johnson is going to be very intersting. Unlike AA I think Glen will invite more pressure on Carl and wont be afraid to take a few to get a few in there. The lack of effort it seemed from AA really shocked me and although carl boxed really well I didnt expect that from AA at all. If a fight breaks out between carl and glen i think we will have a really action packed fight. But carl showing the ability to box like he did against AA and adjust is something I knew he had in his game for years although most people thought he just had a punchers chance I knew he had the ability to use his feet and box. Using that side of the game I think he will be enough to beat the old warrior Johnson.

Froch at this stage should KO Johnson. That is a sign of respect. He shouldn't be fighting and so he needs that little nudge. Johnson will be beaten up.

Johnson is tough as nails though, hes only ever been stopped once in all of his loses and you know hes going to give everything he has in the ring right until the last round. I dont think Carl will stop him, but I think he will be too much for him over 12 rounds definatly

That's where I stand to. Froch should win on the cards, but Johnson's always dangerous.
