I'm into boxing not marketability and hype. I like to watch good skillful boxing. If you don't have it don't get in the ring and fight. Go and join the UFC.
    A clue about what?
He's not a bad fighter. Certainly not "A" level, but he's not a journeyman nor is he a no hoper. He's what I'd call a working fighter- a guy who can make a comfortable living off fight purses. If all working fighters put in the effort Duddy did, I feel it would actually benefit our sport and make it more entertaining.

As for your comment on the UFC, if any elite boxer went to the UFC they would be promptly taken down and beaten. Different sports my friend.

My god like i said in a previous post today. The new breed of poster here doesn't cut it against the people on here back in the old days.

My point about the ufc which majestically flew over your head was that if you want to get paid well for giving the public the entertainment of having your face smashed in go and join the UFC.

My enjoyment of boxing doesn't come from one guy getting mauled half to death (if it was I wouldn't watch boxing I'd watch UFC more) I like boxing for it's skill and tactical elements.

    Duddy was lacking.

The reason why the best fighters rarely fight each other is because they're is always some bum like Duddy that they go and smash to pieces and make a load of money out of it. If there was less of these fighters about chances are you'd see more interesting and evenly matched fights.

But you ain't interested in that you just want to see some clown get destroyed on national tv in a one sided battering.

I thought we were having a reasonable conversation
And sir, I have been here sometime, I am not a new poster

You are fundamentally wrong there. The UFC or MMA as a sport, despite its growing popularity and success does not pay nearly as well as boxing. If a person were pursuing a combat sport sheerly for the money, boxing is where they should stay.

Indeed Duddy was lacking in strategic and technical ability, however I do not believe anyone physically manipulated you into watching his fights. There will always be a contingent that follow boxing for the gore, for the animalistic thrill of seeing two men take to the trenches. Let them watch a Duddy fight, if the man is willing and well paid. But that does not force you to sit through this dreadful boxing you so clearly despise.

As I detailed earlier Duddy is not a bum. Far from the upper echelons of the sport, but far from a bum.
    Poor posting Hornfinger.
