Your assumption that hes not going to train is wrong. He did 9 rounds fairly comfortably a month ago, hes started this camp relatively fit and sharp. We could be about to see the fittest Mayorga has been since the second Forrest fight.

If Margarito can smash Cotto up then Mayorga can. Margarito couldnt stand up to Shanes punches for as long as an inactive Mayorga did, Cottos punches had no efefct on Margarito but Shanes did. Mayorga took big clean flush shots from Mosley without blinking until he tired in the second half. This time though hes had the opportunity to get some rounds in before hand.

Cotto is in a different league to a nobody who had lost 5 of his last 6 bouts, any fighter on the higher level would be comfortable against weaker competition. The Margarito fight was an outstanding fight and there is the whole was margaritos hand illegally wrapped for the cotto fight as well. He got KTFO by Mosley because he had just been caught, his mentality wouldnt have been right and he definatly would have lost his focus hence such a one sided beating. At the end of the day Mayorga might have taken a beating and walked through Mosleys punches but he still lost the fight so what difference does that make if he could take a punch or not? Lets not forget Cotto beat Mosley as well! He was stopped by De La Hoya and trinidad as well. The Forrest fight was nearly 8 years ago, are you telling me hes going to be as good as he was then? Hes been on the slide for a long time and Cotto will be the nail on the coffin. A lot of people think hes lost it, I still think he has more to prove. No shame in losing to Manny in a great fight. and the margarito ,fight fight of the year and potentially controversial still has a question mark IMO over it. Cottos going to win this

He lost 4 out of his last 8 All against fighters who have been top of their weight division.

Mayorga has a better chin than Margarito and Margarito ate all cottos punches up.

Im saying that this could well be the best prepared he has gone in to a bout since then, with the recent activity. Whereas Cotto has been out 9 months and hasnt been hit hard since the Pacquiao fight 16 months ago.

no hed lost 5 of his last 6 and he has lost to three up and coming fighters. hes a nobody basically. And has Mayorga got the better chin? whos been down more? Margarito got stopped by Mosley cos hed just been caught cheating his focus wouldnt have been on the fight and he got destroyed. Did you not see the beating he took against manny and he still didnt go down. Yes Margarito took all of cottos punches and this is how he won the fight and he upped the pace. But did he have illegal handwraps? hes not shown the power he did in that cotto fight since therefore showing something could be up? Mayorga might take a dig but he can still be stopped as proved by Mosley, De La hoya and Trinidad. I dont see how beating a fringe fighter is as good as Cotto beating a 154 world champion. I think Cotto is a lot more prepared than Mayorga has been a lot more active in recent years and has the ability to outwork Mayorga. I think he will stop him in the later rounds

Margarito only has been KO'd by Mosley, and was only dropped twice, Mayorga has been dropped something like 8 times in 3 losses

no way in hell Mayorga has a better chin

Er...in his last 6 fights, starting with Trinidad, he lost to Trinidad, he beat Piccirillio, He lost to De la Hoya, he beat Vargas, he lost to Mosley and then he beat Walker.

I think youll find thats 3 wins, 3 losses

Pacquiao also has losses from early in his career, so does Hopkins

Ask Mosley who hurt his knuckles more and it will be Mayorga. Margarito isnt a puncher nor does he take a shot like Mayorga can. Cotto is in deep.

how did Mayorga hurt Mosley's knuckles when that fight was only competitive cause Mosley had a low punch outpunch and a weak work rate, the complete opposite of how he fought Margarito, if he would have gone after Mayorga that way he would have had him KTFO by the 6th

    Mayorga is fucked

    Oh......iv been such a fool!

    Never mind.

El Terible, your tiresome. Why didnt Mosley throw as many shots? Its because Mayorga hits harder than margarito and Mosley couldnt mix it until Mayorga tired

Also, Mayorga did take some big clean shots from shane. He took them better than Margarito did.

Margarito never showed up that night cos he got exposed that's why Mosley could hit at will and easily beat margarito. Mosley ko'd Mayorga that's the end of it

Iv actually boxed, 18 bouts. I do know about boxing and I can tell you that Cotto doesnt want to be in a hard fight any more. Thats why they have chosen Mayorga, the general opinion is Mayorga is washed up and a complete walk over. Theyre wrong

You've had 18 bouts and that makes you an expert on Cotto's psyche? To make the grand pronouncement that Cotto "doesn't want to be in a hard fight anymore"? I think you've taken too many shots to the head yourself. THAT, and Cotto must look like an old schoolboy bully of yours who used to kick your ass every day of the week.

You also "know" that they chose Mayorga, 'cause "the general opinion is Mayorga is washed up and a complete walk over"? Boy... you certainly have some privileged information.

And for the record, kid... leave me out of the group that buys into Mayorga's bad boy act and hates him for it, as you posted elsewhere. Mayorga amuses me and I see him for what he is... an entertainer.

Look at the Cotto fans getting all defensive. Why so serious?

For one I never take Mayorga's trash talking seriously. It is pure pantomime. If anyone takes that seriously then bigger fool them.

And as for Mayorga I don't know why people are so eager to belittle him. Sure he lost a few fights early on and has lost his biggest fights, but as has been pointed out he has only lost to the elite since breaking through. Much the same as Cotto really.

It's going to be a fun fight and that's all anyone can expect. I'm really looking forward to it. I love watching Mayorga go out and do his thing.
