It's not just the WBC though. They are all corrupt, money driven tossers! I must admit some of fat Dans points here are laughable and spot on, but the 2 other TOP organisations have stupid flaws throughout too. The WBA having a "super" Champion makes me laugh! Then again the WBC have the diamond belt don't they??

I wish one rich consortium could come in and buy them all out and merge them and create one boxing champion like the old days. But that seems highly unlikely to ever happen especially with the ridiculous amounts these people make out of "sanctioning fees".

To me this is the main reason boxing has fallen behind, people say it's because of the very weak HW division and no doubt that does have a bearing, but we've had weak eras before and not had boxing in such a mess. No I think that the general public are confused by who's really a champion in boxing and because of this it stops people wanting to watch it like they used to. We need one champion in each division if boxing is ever to recover to it's former glory!

Your right. But unfortunately a comic style boxing superhero sent to restore order in the world of rankings and belts just simply doesn't exist. I say the Orgs are just too far gone.

To boxing fans though, despite all the Belts and Organisations with their Super, Silver, Gold, Interim and brass, like the Highlander always said, "There Can Be Only One". We know, and the only reputation they destroy is their own.....

El' Presidente lost the plot a long long time ago, he should be checked for mental illness if anything.

Rafael reported on his blog today:

    • Gotta love the laughable WBA's latest ruling, yet another one that insults the intelligence of boxing fans. Celestino Caballero, a career junior featherweight who once unified two of the belts, moved up to featherweight and defeated fringe contender Daud Yordan almost a year ago. In his next bout, Caballero moved up to junior lightweight and was a massive favorite to defeat Jason Litzau. However, Litzau pulled the upset. Caballero's reward for losing in a terrible performance? The geniuses at the WBA made him the mandatory challenger to fight "regular" featherweight titlist Jonathan Barros.
