Why are so many title fights at catch weights now iam not a fan of it at all.

Ortiz is overrated and Berto will stop him in 9.

    To make a physiological affect.

I don't get the last bit, because Ortiz's rep. has suffered big time since his loss to Maidana.

GBP still must rate him to get him this fight.

    whats not to like

mexican/american, good looking chap, exciting fighter, decent record

just a shame he`ll never quite reach the echelons of the sport that the likes of ODLH managed. Berto could well put in a career finishing performance here

Im still of the opinion that andre is ready for the likes of mosley, cotto and hatton
    one dangerous horrible bloke

I'm with you on the catch weights, i hate them myself. I also think the same could be said for Berto as well, a little overrated. I think it should be a good fight.

Good fight for Berto. His mandatory is a no name the he won't get much credit for. Fighting and beating a young lion is something champions don't do much. Saying that, Ortiz fought a determine MM. And that wasn't his night. MM don't have defense but a good chin. Berto has ok defense and a
?able chin. Ortiz is solid, except his willingness to fight the tough fight until the final bell ring.

BTW, is MM power at 140 better then the power Berto has at 147(146 )? I don't think so!!!

To answer the question, why Berto agree to the fight, who else was he going to fight? He was either Ortiz or Bradley. He had to take something. His hitless was Pacman and/or Cotto. They both tied up for 2 more fights. I'm riding with Berto in this fight, in hopes he gets Pacman next(just hoping). If not, Saul Alvarez at 154 for the WBC title.
