the local telecast of the fight had a different angle when montiel was wailing uncontrollably. he was staring right to the camera and he looked exactly like a shocked sly stallone.eyes wide open and crooked lips. the ref was busy trying to put donaire in the neutral corner and didnt saw montiel having a seizure. if he saw that, he wouldve stopped the fight right away.

donaires punch looked like it dented montiels face.i hope montiel recovers from that punch...

Yeah. The leg twitching. I hope he's not suffering facial fracture like Margarito did. I heard Margo is not completely heald yet.

It might not have phased him, sometimes the temple works when the chin doesn't. Doesn't around the nose work also because it cuts off the air. It depends when, where, and against who.
The nose shots work , because the nose bone gets compressed into the brain. I think it also depends on the angle. I've been elbowed straight into the nose and only saw a quick bright flash didnt lose my feet. Uppercut would probably scramble your brain for you.

This statement above probably insinuates that Fernanado is so great at taking a punch... best ever! While Nonito did not have enough power to hurt him.

Maybe, disagreeable to some... lucky enough for Fernando, the referee was also one to disagree!

Yeah, Montiel took it pretty well. Especially after reconstructive surgery performed on him right after the fight... pretty well indeed!

Hope Montiel comes out of this OK, right now, IMO his health is of paramount importance.

I suspect I will be called names again, cause to some it is a form of a pain reliever! Nevertheless, I have little to no skill when it comes to children, so be it.

umm i wasn't talking about the final left hook that dropped Montiel, i was talking about the left hook that Donaire landed flush on the chin that looked very similar to the one that stopped him, difference was the final one was on his temple and the one that he was able to take quite well was on his chin, so i don't see how it's absurd at all to say that the final shot being precisely on Montiel's temple was what sealed the deal

you need to get off your high horse cause leading up to the fight you were nowhere to be found as always, you just come on here after any Filipino fighter wins trying to gloat as if you had anything to do with it, i picked Montiel to win and he lost, i took it and already stated that Donaire did a great job and is finally deserving of being on the lower half of the top 10 p4p fighters in the world

why? because he just sparked a guy that many believed should have been fighter of the year last year

do i think Montiel will bounce back and possibly give him a tougher fight in a rematch? yea i do, i'm not saying he'll win it but do you realize how bad people like you basically discredit Donaire's or even Pacquiao's wins by trying to put either guy on a pedestal?
you basically just said that Montiel couldn't take a punch, so what are you implying? that Montiel is chinny? so that's why Donaire took him on? no, he took him on cause he knew that he had been dragging his feet since Darchinyan and it was finally time to step it up against a real opponent and well he did that and passed with flying colors, a bit of humility would go a long way for you and other fan boys that are exactly like you

I'm still too shocked to comment.
