To me going to toe to toe with Matthew Hatton and him not giving an inch is a pretty damning indictment against your power?![]()

Not at all. He's fought many top prospects in recent years, and although he's lost the fights they have mostly been debatable and he's finished stronger than all of them.
He put Gurrero down and finished strong, he should have got the decision against Sechew Powell. He was lively against the much bigger Daniel Jacobs fighting at middleweight. He got a great win over the unbeaten Pawel Wolak.
He's been fighting out of his weight class to get the fights, move him back down to 154 and he gives Alvarez a very tough fight.
I guarantee if was a 12 rounder it would be a fight we would all be debating who won. Smith tends to start slow and would lose early rounds, but the second half of the fight he'd pick Alvarez apart imo. Over 10 rounds, Alvarez would win, over 12 I reckon Smith bangs out a decision.

Haha, Hatton has won me over completely. Never really thought he mattered before, but he has totally won me over. 'Canelo'? Whatever.![]()

Ok Alvarez gets an easy decision but Matthew Hatton won that fight. He showed heart and courage in a hopeless task, Alvarez just showed why Hatton was not a joke matchup because imo he's getting mashed up when he fights a world class fighter.
Now I hate him more cause I picked him to win by knockout.
The Magic Man is a showman, boxing needs more people who will go down after late punches.

This in a way reminds me of when they HBO put Gamboa in the big show main event Good but talks of 'great' etc are fooking insane

haha I started cheering for Hatton, too bad his corner kept telling him not to exchange. I thought if he would of just kept engaging and try stay inside he would of won the fight or at least made it a lot closer.
Alvarez is still very young and he needs a lot of work IMO. I saw him get stun in there more than a few times. Hopefully they let him take his time and allow him to improve before he himself gets thrown in to the lions. I think the elite would dominate him.
