Default George Groves vs James DeGale 9th April

For the British SuperMiddleweight title. Just been announced by the BBBofC.

For some reason, I still can't see this fight happening. Not yet anyway. Especially considering how there was talk that Warren was lining up a 'world title' fight in the next few months. I don't think Groves fancies it. Neither does Adam Booth.

IF it does happen, DeGale wins this by stoppage around eight.

Way to soon for this fight to be happening. Groves especially needs more time to work on his bad habits

Exactly. Kenny Anderson nearly got him out of there a couple of months ago so , as tough a pro as he is, if Anderson can make him look poor Degale will majorly expose him.

Really no matter how much time Grove is given, I don't think he beats DeGale

From all the trash-talking that's been happening in the last year or so, I think this has been inevitable, although the Groves guys have been all quiet more recently. Looks like the Anderson fight did make him realise he's still got plenty of progressing to do. I'd like to see it happen, although I think Degale would be insufferably smug after another win.

That date is already booked on Sky so it wont happen then.

When it does happen it will probably be part of a big PPV.

If this fight happens so soon Groves will get embarassed i'm afraid. He's just simply not good enough yet and I feel the only way to improve for George is to leave Booth. Booth is a good tactician no doubt if you have the physical attributes of David Haye, but George does not have that 1 punch hail mary power to keep opponents at bay so that style doesn't work for him.

think maybe grives is being written off a bit early here?

degales win over smith seems to be elivating him pretty high in most peoples opinions

I like Groves and I'd love him to beat De Gale as he seems a total wanker to be frank, BUT I really think as they stand right now Groves is a full level below DeGale and if they were to fight now IMO Degale wins rather easily.

you could be right, and it does look that way from the smith and anderson fights

but i think too much opinion rides on these two fights

My opinion on the matter was the same before theses 2 fights took place. Groves is trying to clone Haye and IMO he does not have the one punch power to get away with using that style.

Last year i fancied Groves to beat degale but as they have stepped up competition,Groves hasnt improved and every time Degale steps up a level he has got better and better. Degale takes him out around the 7th for me if this fight happens now.

Agreed same feelings, it will not happen 9th April unless it is on the Khan under card?

    Hey don't shoot the messenger.

It won't happen, at least until later on in the year, anyway.
