You need more than speed. Khan has no inside game, and his outside game is based purely on speed, everything is derived from it. Depending so much on one thing would make him easy to pick apart for a guy like Floyd.
The Datsik guy on here is commenting about Judah, well Floyd did time Zab's speed and counter punching, but look how they lined up, Floyd was trying to control Zab, he wasn't trying to box Zab the same way he does orthodox fights. He was using his right hand like a jab to control the distance and angle, and I think it took him a few rounds to calibrate it against a slick counter puncher like Judah. Mosley has the speed and more power than Judah and only landed in that one round. De La Hoya had good handspeed, and he is very good at not telling before he punches, but he barely landed anything on Floyd. Well De La Hoya and even Mosley have better defenses than Khan. If Floyd was trying to play the speed game just on the outside against Khan he would likely be beaten because of Khan's speed and output, but Floyd always mixes it up, he will avoid Khan's punches on the outside, likely hit him with a shot or two coming in, then go to work on Khan's body.
This isn't even about how good FLoyd is, as it is about how one dimensional Roach's fighters truly are, and if they aren't as uniquely blessed as Pacquiao that they are in deep shit against any elite fighter. All of his guys have a particular in and out movement, and they get in great shape, and they get very fluid at throwing combinations and moving, but he doesn't teach inside fighting to them, and he doesn't teach them how to really control space. Manny has the power and punch output to do it, but even he doesn't control his opponent as much as he simply beats them up.
