Joe earned his retirement and has been living large a bit too long.

You are forgetting Joe has been dancing so is in good condition and could go at least 5 rounds.
Dancing is not the same as swimming my friend !!!!!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Calzaghe beat him actually, but if it ever happened it would be better for Calzaghe to have a tune up first to gauge whether he is able to still fight at a pace or not. I think even now and as impressive as Froch has been, that Calzaghe is just too good. Froch is borderline elite, but Calzaghe for me was elite.

Different leagues. Even now Calzaghe would find a way to compensate for any loss of speed/stamina.

    Calzaghe PTS.

I'd have loved to have seen Froch knock him out aswell. Not that it would have happened.

I'm a big JC fan, but no way on earth he could come back and beat Froch. Froch is young, prime, hungry. Calzaghe was getting floored by old men and even said himself that if he had've fought again he would prbaly have lost.

Nobody thought that Leonard could jump up two divisions after a three year hiatus and beat Hagler either.

Joe Calzaghe is not Sugar Ray Leonard. Then again, Froch is not Marvin Hagler.

Calzaghe would have had the measure of Froch, whether it be prime for prime, or when it was mooted about 2.5 years ago.

Froch would have need to use his jab & box to stand any chance against Calzaghe & back in 2008, he hadn't learnt to do that.

Even then, he probably would have been too slow to do it anyway.

If we're talking about now, the fight would be a farce & should not happen anyway.
