    Last 6 fights on PPV:

Mosley - 1st 3 rounds were interesting, then a blowout
JMM - 1st round were interesting, then a blowout
Hatton - Cortez never allowed Ricky into the fight but it was a great KO
    Oscar - Boring as hell
    Baldomir - Boring as hell
Zab - 1st 4 rounds were interesting, then a blowout
You cannot blame for blowing out Shane and Zab, that is class fighter.

Floyd did 1.05 million PPV buys with JMM and he did 1.4 million buys with Mosley. Now let's do the math.

    1.05 million x $54.99= $57,739,500
    1.4 million x $54.99= $76,986,000

Total for 2 of those fights for ppv revenue= $134,725,500

And that's just the ppv revenue only, we're not talking about the gate and also possibly he is pulling people to Vegas to spend their cash on vacations and betting in the city. So hell yeah he's worth it in America's capitalistic society. He's generating tens of millions of dollars for everyone of his fights now. He deserves his pay.

When he fought ODH they created his bad guy persona to help sell the fight. (I think he loved the money so much that he absorbed the persona)

Many people watch his fights because they want to see him lose. That's the entertainment value. When people watch the WWE or what ever it's called, and see a bad guy like the Undertaker. They are entertained by the match up of good guy vs. bad guy and it's a proven seller. Mayweather is no different than the Undertaker. The percentage they make is what they are worth in term of the product being purchased. If you don't like the bad guy because he earns money, that your problem. Floyd is happy with that because it makes you remember him and pay attention to when he fights.

Personally, I don't risk buying his fights because his outside style is boring, but some love the sweet science and skills he puts on display. I can wait until it is replayed for free.

Come on really? Zab was coming off a loss (in which he was almost KO'd by Baldomir) and Mosley was 8-5 with 4 clear-cut loses and 2 debatable wins vs. Oscar and the 1st Vargas fight. No argument about Floyd's fighting ability at all; just his choice of opposition.

I've never purchased one of his ppv's. I'd go with does he deserve it, yes. Based on media spotlight and he obviously generates buzz and draws "fans" who couldn't name a bantamweight if life depended on it. He's a showman. He's a salesman and his own best hype man. Lately more talk is generated on his gimmicks and personal dealings then by anything he does in the ring. He puts ass's in seats and from many perspectives. Case of networks feeding him from a buffett. Some watch to see him fall....some watch to appreciate his twinkle toes type mastery of the squared circle once a year if that. He deserves it but now is he worth the bucks...not mine, not one fooking nickle.

LMAO, and not one fookin' nickle of mine either. I give Mayweather credit for doing a great job marketing himself and there's no doubt that he is skilled/talented and puts butts in the seats, but personally I wouldn't pay 10 cents to see one of his fights. That's not hate, just total lack of any interest.

some of the responses on here are straight up ridiculous...

SHAME ON FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. FOR USING ALL OF HIS SKILL AND NATURAL GIVEN TALENT TO DOMINATE HIS OPPONENTS, IT'S OBVIOUS HE SHOULDN'T TRAIN AT ALL CAUSE THAT WAY HIS FIGHTS WILL BE MORE COMPETITIVE AND THE FANS WILL GET TWO GUYS JUST PUNCHING EACH OTHER...

Floyd is the best natural pure boxer of his generation, he dominates his opponents, WORLD CLASS opponents because he's that much better than them, he sells fights, he gets you guys to buy his PPV, no different than what Mayorga does with all of his trash talking, the only difference is Floyd makes good on his claims that he's gonna fuck the other guy up, he might not KO them, but what fighter on that list (apart from maybe DLH and Baldomir) did Floyd not whoop badly? against Zab he was on the verge of a stoppage when Judah did the infamous low blow riot, he did knock Hatton the fuck out, against Marquez he could have gotten the KO whenever he wanted after the 3rd and chose to get in a few rounds, and IMO he had Mosley pretty much out of it by the 8th stunning him a few times with those hard accurate straight right hands if he would have pressed more i wouldn't have been shocked to see him get the stoppage, the other two guys well were known for having granite chins at that time and well a certain Golden Boy wasn't weight drained and shot to bits

I absolutely think there are more exciting fighters out there that provide more bang for your buck, and maybe even you would say more value for money...

But Mayweather is really something special.. Along with Whitaker, he is the most skillful boxer I have ever seen... I have got nearly every one of his fights, and it just an absolute pleasure to watch him.... Yes you won't get a slug fest with him, but his skill and dominance against otherwise A class fighters is something very special... And will be remembered as such for a long time..

I think he is worth every dollar, even though you can get a lot more excitement from other fighters/fights... Just the appreciation alone that you can have for Mayweather's boxing class and skill, makes his PPV figures well earned...

Many future boxing fans will be just as appreciative to discover this old Mayweather Jr character and how talented he was....

Boxing has all of those characters where you will get "a fuck!ng fight", but you have the other fighters who are technical geniuses... And I am 100% with C-Lo... And think he would also agree that as a true boxing fan, you can appreciate and get excited over both types of fighters....
