Granted, in the last 6 years, Diaz has improved his boxing skills, sparring at Kings Boxing Gym in Oakland, CA, with Andre Ward and other boxers.

My former trainer, is assistant trainer to Virgil Hunter, Ward's trainer, and he has watched Diaz spar Ward many times. He says Ward could "KO Diaz with his eyes closed", and he absolutely toys with Diaz.

Now more importantly, a tough, club fighter named Fernando Barajas, a super middle boxer, also goes to Kings, has sparred both Nick and Nate Diaz and tore them up as well from what I understand.

So I really just do not see Diaz beating Lacy or Fernando Vargas or any decent pro boxer.

And Bilbo, Diaz is taller than Lacy, but he doesn't walk around at 190 of muscle, Lacy does.

The nobody that Diaz beat has a pretty decent record for a first fight. Never stopped in his career, only ever lost to unbeaten fighters with perfect records. Went the 6 round distance with Andre Dirrell in his final fight and and looks like he won at least one round on every card 58-55 all cards.

So it looks like Diaz in his first fight beat a decent trialist that only ever lost to undefeated prospect fighters.

To the guy who said Diaz stance was awful, you do realise he's fighting MMA right? You can't have the same stance as in boxing as you'd be wide open to take downs, kicks and everything else.

He fights in boxing he will have a stance appropriate for boxing.

I'm not saying he beats Lacy or Vargas here. I'm just saying he's a great MMA striker and the only way to denigrate his boxing prospects is by presumption.

He might be very good. We don't really know yet.

Unless Lacy throws the fight, he will beat Diaz in a 10 round affair, likely by KO.

IF somehow Diaz won, I would shutter to think what the MMA community would say about it...

I like mma, and watch a ton of it, have watched it since the very first UFC, before it was super popular, but I'm a boxing fan first and foremost.
