it would suck for boxing if Mosley won. Also a huge blow to Pacquio's legacy

Why would it suck for boxing?

Shane Mosley is a legend approaching the end of his career. It would be a fairytale story if he could pull off the upset. He is such a big underdog, hasn't won in years and is older than the moon.

It would be great for boxing and the American public. What better story could there be than for Shane Mosley to stop Manny Pacquiao? It is a perfect narrative.

Nobody could begrudge Shane Mosley the win and I am glad to see that he is the sentimental favourite going into this fight. Most of us like the guy and are willing him on.

Go on Shane, give the little man the fight of his life!

You know on boxing topics, I tend to agree with you Miles. This would be a boost for boxing, maybe not for the Filipino faithful but Pac wouldnt be forced to retire from it. If anything it might lure Floyd's gay ass to actually fight him. I got nothing against Pac and if he wins I'm not gonna one of the guys saying "Oh this was a gimme fight" this is world title professional level, there are no "gimmes".

I should post more about boxing really, I get distracted with the other stuff.

I can understand the view that Pac is younger and there are big money fights for him. There isn't really any clamour for Mayweather/Mosley 2 as that was so one sided, but at the same time a Mosley win would be such a great story. Two duff fights and then stopping the P4P best fighter at nearly 40? It doesn't get any more epic than that.

It's like trying to pull stars from the sky with an outstretched arm. Highly improbable, but if it happens things will never be the same again.

Mosley winning would be a big step back for boxing. In that case we would never see Mayweather vs Manny, or would we?

If Shane beats Pac Man then he does not deserve to fight Floyd.

Why the hell not? its a fight ill always want to see, the only way manny loses is by knockout, doesn't mean he sucks, just means shane was that guy for him. I still say floyd wins, but i actually believe it would be a hell of a fight.

Yes but it will lose the value of who is the best p4p fighter on the planet.

More than that I fear it will provide a valid excuse to Floyd for not fighting Manny. That's the worst scenario really. He will retire with 0 defeats, leaving a big question mark.

Yeah if they never fight it would the worst decision each fighter has made, altho i think mayawether suffers more if they don't fight

i really dont care. I like Mosely a lot, but he was picked for a reason, its Arum for you. Pick a guy with a huge name that has some damage or miles on him and pass him off as this huge risk.

The only way I see Mosely really in this fight, if he can hurt Pac a few times early and earn some respect annd fire the right hand effectively, hopefully that gets Pac off his rhythm and slows down Pac's work rate enough were Mosely can stay live in there.

Most likey outcome will be a wide UD for Pac

I think he has a good shot early and after say round five his chances will start to erode. I cant see him winning a 12 round fight. I dont think he has the legs. He does not have a jab either and you need one of those to beat this man. I'll be cheering for Shane to pull a magic right hand but not betting on it.

Mosley has to come in hot and firing or its going to be going all Pacs way.

Good Luck Shane hope you wobble the fuk out him real early so that the rest of the fight is on more even ground.

Doesn't matter who wins so Long as Shane isnt too damaged but yeah Go MOSLEY!

I see they've had the weight in. Both guys look in great shape, I can see Mosley gaining a fair few pounds overnight with Manny gaining just a few. I think you are right, Andre. Mosley needs to land hard and early to keep Pac honest. It would be great if one of them could cut Manny too, he doesn't react well to that. And just then maybe we have a more level playing ground, otherwise it could be a rough, tough night.
