Alright guys, this is off topic, please don't hate at me for posting this, I just thought it would be a good change of pace, so please share your opinions.

In the old days if you had a dispute with some one you would challenge them to a duel, pistol or fist. While I prefer the latter, with today's laws a fist is labeled as a deadly weapon.

Why can't disputes be settled between consenting adults? Say you have a problem with somebody at work (where this is mostly coming from ) and the fucking guys just irritates the shit out of me.

I am new at the job, in my 3rd week, he has been there for a while. Totally impolite, bumps into me and does not say excuse himself. I imagine myself landing a nice left hook and putting his pompous ass to sleep.

Not only would I lose my job, I would most definitely be fucked by the fuzz.


Is it "archaic" in modern times to settle disputes in such manner.

Yes, apparently, but it shouldn't be. It is very easy for people to be rude and inconsiderate, say anything they please, then press 9 and 1 and hide behind a cell phone.

If 2 consenting adults about the same size want to settle their differences with a fight they should be able to. They would have to complete a consent form, employers waiver and health and saftey check list. If they did all that they would be better fighting with gloves and head guard as in white coller boxing. They would make friends and respect each other afterwards.

you know one time some guy at work told me to shut my trap, i was immediately interrupted by a customer, i helped, and proceeded to find the fell, i told him "if u ever talk to me like that again....i will fuck you up!" he apologized and was a complete ass kisser for the remainder of my time at that place, now if he were to decide to take it outside, well he would have made my fucking day ...basically, i think you should pull the guy to the side and let him know he is a moment away form getting destroyed, if he tells on you, deny it, and if he decides to act tough,well...take him outside

agreed, talk to him , if he's an ass, be a bigger one when talking to him, Polite doesnt just work sometimes. make him feel intimated and likely he will puss out . If he continues , take the guy outside and knock him cold

I suppose this question is bugging me because about 9 months ago I got an assault charge for a quarrel over money that was due. Spent 3 fucking months in county for it too.

There guys would "go to the bathroom" to settle disputes...no fucking of the shit or ring...it was to avoid detection from C.O's

I have a low tolerance for stupid. Which probably is a bad thing for me. So, yes, I do consider the consequences. But ultimately just don't care if I feel justified. The strange part about being able to take care of yourself on the streets, is that where you'd think people would want to avoid such a deal with you...they instead feel the need to try and step up their game. Stupid is the only word I have to describe it. I got tired of trying to be cordial about the whole process of talking them out of it etc and decided to give em what they ask for... It's quite a sight to see the look of a person getting their face smashed in, much to their surprise in spite of all they're begging for it.

I punched a guy in the face and my knuckle and writs hurt all night long, I was in some series pain. it was like punching a wall. I would not recommend it.

Nor do I favor stupidity myself. Alcohol has it's own way of working itself into the picture, add to a large sum of money owed legitimately but said individual, but with no cooperation...I lost it. It was only immediately after that reality set in and I realized I was in deep shit.

Now I go through extra precautions to avoid any involuntary acts of being a dumbass, so far 60% success rate!
