Guy, you act like I hate BHOP because I said RJJ is better p4p historically. I don;t have a problem with him winning that belt from Pascal. It doesn't change my opinion of him. He's still an ATG win or lose that fight. Don't quite get why you're trying to make it about RJJ vs BHOP. When everyone knows RJJ has been shot for like 6-7 years. I guess Holmes beating old Ali some how diminishes his legacy.

The hopkins-jones rivalry is not my rivalry. I just watch the sport.
No way, you cant weasel out of this debate, its not even over yet. B-Hop's legacy is still going. RJJ is done put a fork in him, turn out the lights the partys over...get my drift?
Dude, didn't you see the part where I said RJJ has been shot for like 6-7 years? Of course his legacy his done. So is roberto duran, SRL, SRR, Ali, Tyson....

There isn't a debate. I said p4p historically RJJ is higher. After all the hoopla of YA YA YA bhop just won, and roy did what he's been doing for the last several years which is lose badly. It will still show that when they were in their primes RJJ beats BHOP 9 out 10 times.

Not so cocky now RJJ? Pay you taxes next time that way you dont have to catch another beat down because your in money trouble. Good for Lebedev, I thought he could have gotten the nod against Huck. He has one of the biggest heads in boxing though, its a huge target.
Bhop will still be ranked behind RJJ historically.
No way, yeah if you only look at his prime, but thats not the whole picture. Thats selective objectivity. B-Hop wins against Pascal tonight and keeps going and its all but cemented. B-Hops also got some losses that you could say were close enough to have gone the other way. RJJ has what 1 questionable loss to Tarver, out of 8 losses. B-Hop has 3 questionable losses and a loss in his first pro fight. I also think his fight against RJJ was closer than the judges saw it, I think it could have been a draw possibly. If you watch that fight without the announcers kissing RJJ's ass you can see a close fight.
Actually they weren't. They were saying that both men were too respectful of the others abilities and neither really wanted to take the lead. Also Bhop after his first fight with JT said "This wasn't like when I fought Roy and I KNEW I had lost the fight, I won this fight"....Not saying Roy whooped him, but it was clear won the fight and a UD was the correct call.

And counting Roy's 8 losses is like counting SRR's 15 or 17 lossess after he was like 38. Or even Holyfield's for that matter. Just because BHOP aged better than Most in history doesn't rank him higher. Bhop has one legit Hof fighter on his resume and he happens to be a blown up WW, but let's not go into this. Because I like BHOP, a lot. Just don't think he's better p4p historically than RJJ.

    Excuses......grip reality...

What excuses? What are you talking about?

Saying BHop just aged better.... Roy ducked BHop for years. Roy never fought anyone.... and when he did he lost. Roy might be the most overrated fighter of all time. He sits way behind BHop in regards to legacy.

Roy sat in a soft division and cherry picked. He avoided any potential real fights. Hs resume is better known for who he lost to. He beat nobody

This is all my opinion. Don't need to go ape shit. I'm just saying Roy is the most overrated fighter ever.
He beat nobody? Didn't he beat Hopkins?

Didn't BHOP admit on the radio that roy gave him advice about going to beat up on blown up welterweights Tito and ODLH to make a name for himself, because he was a nobody with a MW reign against nobodies? Three fights against nothing guy robert Allen?

Not going to go apeshit, is it not a fact that bhop aged better? That's not an excuse. Bhop has wins over, tito, oscar, pavlik, winky, (all smaller than him) and two wins over Tarver and Pascal. The two HOFers were blown up WWs, and oscar had just basically lost to Sturm the fight before.

RJJ wins over Bhop, Toney, and Ruiz trumps all of those wins. RJJ is on the list with SRR, SRL, PACMAN, as fighters to win Fighter of the decade and your stance is that for 10 years RJJ fought no one yet earned the award shared by SRR SRL? That's illogical or delusional.

Ok lets just judge fighters by their primes, so what Mike Tyson is the greatest heavyweight in history to you? Who is being delusional here?

I don't know how you drew that conclusion from what I said. Also, on this forum I've called Tyson the most overrated fighter in history.

Well if you just want to judge people in their primes, I would say Tyson was the greatest heavyweight of all times. See what I'm saying? You have to look at the whole picture when you are talking legacy. You are hanging onto RJJ's prime for dear life... I also put a question mark at the end of that sentence, implying it wasnt a statement....

You're right, hopkins has a legacy of being a ageless wonder, something he will always have over RJJ. In fact over everyone in history because he's the oldest to win a title. Guess that shoots him all the way to the top of the list.

I'm not saying he's greatest all time, you can't disregard SRR's winning streak and longevity, or Ali's spectacular wins. I'm just saying I think overall B-Hops legacy has surpased RJJ's as of late. Hey, B-Hop could continue on and lose a few more fights badly, and that may change things, you never know.
