Good scrap between two seriously tough guys. I must say I had it a lot closer that the commentators thought ...... wouldn;t have been too surprised to see the decision go to johnson but it could really have gone either way without complaint.

Johnson got tired for the last three rounds, which i think won Froch the fight, because I thought Johnson was making Carl look disorganised for the first half of the fight. Two good chins in there though.

Froch struggles against slick movers though (which is why he would not have beated calzaghe had they fought), so I would have to make ward the favourite for the final.

Bernstein is my favorite boxing commentator, but lately he is misled by Tarver and basically goes along with whatever Tarver says and kisses his ass.

Tarver lets his old vendettas and rivalries get in the way of commentating, for example claiming that Andre Ward is already better than Roy Jones Jr. was at 168
In what way did Tarver suggest Ward was better than Jones Jnr? If he was suggesting that Ward was technically more accomplished and seasoned in comparison to Roy then he'd be making a fair point, vendetta or no vendetta. Tarver's aite man, i'm sure he has nothing against Johnson either...

Froch was busier, Johnson did not throw enough. No way did Johnson do enough to win.

So Froch puts on a clinic in his last fight against a solid fighter and then etches out a close MD against a seasoned, busy fighter who knows how to spoil and make you look bad - so he's on the slide?

Glen fought like he was in his prime and froch punished him and froch grinded out a win and whilst on the slide if glens on the slide.

I saw it the same as you.

The Showtime broadcast team would lead you to believe it was a Goddamn blowout !

I honestly do not see Froch or Johnson beating Ward, I didn't before the fight last night and I still don't.

Not in last nights fight, but I believe it was in the Ward vs. Sakio Bika fight, Tarver literally said that Andre Ward was already better than Roy Jones was at 168 and Bernstein agreed.

    It was lunacy.

Tarver is alright, but he is one of those guys who remembers himself as being a lot better than he really was, and holds on to grudges. Particularly against Roy Jones.

There seems to be alot of bias or watching Johnson through Rose tinted glasses because nigh on every round, Froch did more and landed more than Johnson, there was a point late in the fight where Froch laned a nice combination while Johnson was floundering against the ropes, for a second I thought Johnson was getting stopped. I havent seen anyone else bully Johnson like that.

The other thing is. This is the first fight in years where Johnson hasnt lost controversially. The other young fighters hes lost to recently, there was by far more of an argument that Johnson wan but not here.

Ward wont be able to pressure Froch like that. Frochs biggest asset is his strength. He looks very hard to budge and when he lets his hands go, he can get in some nice shots, like the right uppercut.

Iv moaned at Froch before for taking so long in his career to actually fight any world rated opponents before he talks shit but hes done that now and I feel he is still learning in every fight. Ward is deffinitly got his hardest fight coming up. Frochs rough style will do him well, as long as he doesnt sit back and think too much and let Ward try and dictate. Push him like Bika did.

Okay I've just finished watching the fight, here are my scores.

    __________1___2__3__4__5___6__7__8__9__10_11_12_TO TAL
    Froch_____0.9 0.9 0.9 10. 10. 10. 0.9 0.9 10. 10. 10. 10. 115
    Johnson___10. 10. 10. 0.9 0.9 10. 10. 10. 0.9 0.9 0.9 0.9 114

I had Johnson ahead right up until the 11th. Good fight from both guys, would be happy with a draw, would be a little upset if it had gone the other way but no way can I accept scores like 117-111 or whatever. Froch didn't like Johsnon's cuteness and was a little unsure right up until the big drive at the end where he just laid it all out regardless. That's what won him the fight.

There were a lot of cocky Froch fans on here saying how Johnson was going to get dominated and such nonsense.

It was a good fight, and I was disapointed that Glen slowed down in the later rounds, as he took a early lead on my card.

Froch did well, but really got A LOT of credit for flashy combos that landed on Johnson's gloves. He never hurt Glen, and didn't land a whole lot of clean shots. Certainly was fresher down the stretch though.

How did you score it ?
    6 Rounds?

Even Glen Johnson didn't think that Glen Johnson won... when was the last time you heard him not complain about losing a decision?

Did I say Glen got robbed ? Did I say he won the fight ?

I said it was a very close fight, and it was.

Also you would think you lost too if you had a corner man telling you that you are losing every round and must get a knockout to win, as Johnson did.

It was a close fight as in every round was close but Froch did do more almost every round. Someone else said it already but plodding forward with a high guard ocasionally throwing a punch doesnt out weigh the shots that Froch landed on Glen.

Im actually looking forward to the Ward Froch fight. I want to see what Froch can do with Wards shitty style. Im pretty sure he will be able to drag Ward in to a rough fight and outwork him. It cant be in Wards back yard yet again though!!
