I don't hate anyone, I just fail to see how a random drugs test has caused a man to react like a swarm of bees. And no I don't think he does beat Mayweather anymore, the Mosley fight has suggested that Mayweather has the accuracy and timing to do far more than what JMM ever did.

Pac can't close the ring and has leg issues, he thrives on people who stand in front of him. Fighters who don't fare well, Mosley is usually no runner and got through with a half assed mayweather impression. Mayweather would take the drugs test avoider to school. Probably KO him too.

That's your problem. It's not "a random blood test" he was asking for. It was a series of blood tests during the training period, (I read the original request was not to exceed 11 urine and blood tests during the 8 weeks) which is not the standard of Olympic Style Testing. Pacquiao wanted to cut it down to three plus one after the fight and all the urine they want but also wanted a cut off date for the blood because he did want them to draw blood too close to the fight. The Olympic Standard Floyd keeps referring to is not what the standard calls for. A Random blood test is sometime during non-competition times, not 11 times during the training period. The three plus one blood test after the fight and all the urine they want is more than enough to satisfy anyone's testing regiment. It's not as simple as saying "Take the fuking test"

It is that simple and wouldn't bother any other professional besides Manny 'I have a bee in my bonnet' Pacquaio. The testing is NO big deal, he isn't being hindered by it in any major way. Having to consume 5000 calories a day sounds like a bigger deal than having a needle take a little blood every week or so.

cmon miles..you dont hate pac? action speaks louder than words..or in this case your words says it all...But i do agree pac will have a hard time against floyd. It will be a boring fight in fact. As for the testing.if i were pac..i would never ever submit to floyds demands. .if someone insults me and eventually accuses me of using drugs? Pac is dumb to compromised his principle just to accomodate floyd.or Maybe he just wanted to fight floyd badly. In reality,i think floyd has too much skill for pac..he knows it and his clan knows it. I just cant figure why d hell with all these demands? i thought he said he is the greatest ever..even greater than Ali or Ray leonard ...ridiculous...

When all is said and done, I don't actually have it in me to truly hate. I can be flamboyant with the rhetoric, but I don't hate him.

In fact following the Cotto fight I had grown to like him, my posting history shows it, but the drug refusal made me did a u turn, as did increasingly questionable matchmaking.

Manny has become what I criticised mayweather for AND he refused to show that he was clean. I don't hate him, but I've clearly lost a lot of respect for him.

One thing that always intrigued me about this whole situation. Floyd always fought whoever was put in front of him. Every one of those opponents was of his own choosing. Then, when the public demands a fight (Manny), all of a sudden he wants olympic style drug testing. Why now? Why Manny? Why not Carlos Baldomir? Ricky Hatton? etc...The only explanation is..."how can I string this along further? This dude can beat the hell out of me"

And Floyd is willing to go through every single thing from those random tests so how can this be unfair? How can this give him the edge? Different story if he would only ask for Manny to go through all that while he didn't.

This goes to show that not everyone will immediately agree to Floyd's demand. Some will stand by their principle, some will not. Remember also that there are two egos clashing in this negotiation.

Pac is dumb to compromised his principle just to accomodate floyd.or Maybe he just wanted to fight floyd badly. In reality,i think floyd has too much skill for pac..he knows it and his clan knows it. I just cant figure why d hell with all these demands?
You got the word right .... compromise. And as of the last negotiation, it was Pacquiao who was trying to make the fight happen by compromising. He already agreed to Floyd's initial drug test demand.

i thought he said he is the greatest ever..even greater than Ali or Ray leonard ...ridiculous...
This is what bothers me. The posters here who insist that Manny go through those drug test that are beyond the requirements are the same posters who belittles Manny's accomplishments. If there is nothing special with Pacquiao, then why the special test?

Just out of curiosity, do you think what Pacquiao has achieved so far is greater than what Mayweather has achieved? Would you consider Manny as having a better accomplishment than Floyd?

That can be a long debate over who has a better resume, who has fought guys in their prime as opposed to guys who are going downhill, weight drained, etc. Who has been more active, who has finished their fights with KOs and who hasn’t, who is more feared, who dominates and has not shown clear weaknesses or comes out of his fights clean, etc. Lots of points to talk about.
Now, what do you think about my question?

With regards to those drug test debate, don't you think that's already moot considering that Manny already agreed to those test?

With regards to who has a better resume, I don't have any intention to debate this. Both sides have valid arguments. I am just curious as to your opinion on that. You don't even need to explain it.

I would think it would be moot if he said clearly that he agrees to RANDOM blood tests with no cutoff weeks just like Floyd has taken them on his recent past fights. So far, since these negotiations started, Pac says he agrees to all tests and continues saying he agrees to all tests…that is, the ones from the current commission. Or that he agrees to all tests “…but with X amount of cutoff weeks”. Or he will say he agrees to something and then Roach or Arum will come up with their reason not to accept those tests. It keeps coming back and forth. There is no “We agree to ALL RANDOM BLOOD TESTS WITH NO CUTOFF WEEKS WHATSOEVER” yet.

I am sort of 50/50 with both. Floyd for beating many of them in their prime and coming out clean in his fights, almost to the point of not even breaking a sweat while winning in dominating fashion. Not having a clear weakness/flaw. I kind of question his “win” versus Castillo though. Manny for winning in explosive fashion, in different weights (sure, they are catch weights but it’s still something) , etc. If this fight is ever made and there is a KO/TKO, I’ll say Manny takes it. If it goes to the scorecards, I’ll say Floyd glides to a clear victory with his boxing/defense skills. So who wins? I’ll say it can go either way. Both have what it takes to beat each other.

If these 2 dont fight each other after jmm and ortis its the biggest misjustice to boxing fans ever!! Pacmans got the balls 2get in the ring wiv oscar, hatton, cotto, margarito and mosley but hes freaked out by needles?!? And mayweather is capable of beating any1 so shud stop makin demands so the fight doesnt happen! And lets not forget its pacman whos the p4p king now so maybe mayweather shud come down a peg and abide by pacmans terms!! Fair play to the super middles in the super six, no bullshit politics just the best in the wieght division all boxing each other! Imagine pacman, mayweather, williams, margarito, cotto and maybe berto in a super six at a catch-wieght?!

    Quote:

Beats, Boxing & Mayhem: Now, you’re willing to compromise on the blood testing. You weren’t as flexible earlier this year and walked away to take another fight. Do you regret not compromising during the first negotiations and fighting Joshua Clottey?

Pacquiao: [Pauses] Um, no. I feel like I don’t need Mayweather to make my career. I fought the best and anyone willing to face me. I want it, and feel the fans deserve the [Mayweather] fight. I want to prove to everyone that it wasn’t me who didn’t want the fight. That’s why I made the concession to take anything [blood tests] he wants at any time. Even during the fight before the sixth round if he wanted! What [else] can I do? I hope we get the fight done soon. Let’s get it on.

Link: Manny Pacquiao: Politics As Usual Beats, Boxing and Mayhem

So based on your above statement, it would be MOOT.
If Pacquiao was bluffing, Mayweather could have exposed him by agreeing to fight in the second negotiation. Why didn't he?

    Fair enough.
Follow-up question: Is there anything special in Manny that is lacking in all of Mayweather's previous opponents? Is Manny better than any of Floyd's previous opponents?
