This has pugilistic dimentia written all over it.

Bad idea, he's taken too many KO's in his last few fights. However i can see him fighting Pirog, or Jacobs so they can add a name to their resume.

Taylor would still beat Felix Sturm if they fought- in the US of course

Jermaine has to earn a living and support his family somehow and this is the only way he know how and should be allowed the chance. He has taken a long rest and can try and test the water with a couple of easy fights to see how he feels.

Jermain Taylor should have a job on HBO or Showtime or Epix or ESPN

Jermain Taylor could be an opponent for JC Jr....maybe Andy Lee...maybe Allen Green?

It just ain't worth it. So yeh he can beat some lesser guys and even out in coin and only propel himself into a much larger and more danger close type of match. He's had to soak up more punishment and was never quick of foot in the first place. Wanna make money fine in low level fights fine but the networks and name value will get him into a big fight situation his skill and game can no longer carry him thru, and everyone will praise his balls and how game he is.

No, he has a ridiculous stuttery style of talking. I certainly couldn't deal with it.

I agree, I always have seen Jermaine as a more of a well conditioned athlete than a boxer. He may have good pedigree as an amateur and professional but the way he boxes is not smooth and clean. It is more strained and manufactured movement which is drilled into him rather than being a naturally gifted boxer. He does stand a good chances against JCC but probably not Strum and certainly not Martinez. After a couple of easy confidence building fights he could take on Pavlik, Lacy, RJJ, which may be interesting.

What else is Taylor going to do guys ? He's still a young man and still a talented boxer.

He is def at less of a health risk than Roy Jones is at these days.

I say let Taylor fight some tune ups and lets see how he looks. Then put him in there with Daniel Jacobs or someone of that caliber.

    Then a match with Martinez.

As some smart guy once said "Fighters fight." It really can be at the core of their identity, can't it? I will say being at less health risk than Roy Jones is like winning a tallest midget contest. Of questionable import wouldn't you say?

I think Taylor's problem is he is another guy who got by on his athleticism rather than his craft. His reflexes and speed aren't going to have improved at 32-33 years old.

My guess is he's cannon fodder.

    haha poor Roy...

I think Taylor still has a shot against less than stellar punchers.

The kid is a good boxer.

Taylor has speed, power and skills. However, his stamina is more than questionable and we have seen that the last 2-3 rounds are absolutely lethal for him as he gets drain to the point where his body can't sustain nothing no more. No good for 12 rounders, head took enough shocks like that. His only chance to spark again would be to fight 8 or 10 rounders but definitely not 12 and even then, he'd be better doing something else of his life and way less damageable for his future.

he can beat some journeymen and quite possibly some light hitting ranked guys, but I will be fearful for him when he faces a ranked fighter that can punch.

    Taylor KO'd by Pavlik
Taylor looked decent in the rematch against Pavlik but tentative
Taylor looked decent against Froch; then he got KO'd
Taylor looked horrible against Abraham; then he got KO'd

During the Abraham fight he just didn't look very good to me. The 2 big KOs had done something to him. I don't think taking that big KO from Abraham and then sitting out is going to have improved things.
