My thoughts......
Well Wlad was the favourite to win and I think wlad on points was a very very likely outcome from the moment the fight was concieved.
i have to say boxing frustrates me when it pans out as predicted. But then that's life.
I actually think that haye did better than most on here are giving credit. I understand that there are alot of people to thrust the dagger into haye now for one reason or another. But the fact is Haye landed some good shots and was dangerous throughout.
End of the contest, wlad had won fair and square and there can be no complaints.
The knock down was a complete farcical joke but had it been given or not the result would have still been the same so you can't dwell on that too much.
Haye did have a broken toe it's there for all to see. He probably should have pulled out or post poned but come on, when you have people, especially those on this forum, that don't believe training injuries exist it wasn't really an option. BUT just like the faulse knock down the toe wasn't the reason haye lost the fight.
The ring entrances. Probably the most elaborate ever seen in boxing so far. They were works of art in themselves. I thought it was genius by the haye camp to use the time that Wlad was going to make them wait in the ring to post pone their entrace. However I didn't like the fact that Haye had to pretty much fight his way to the ring and wlad got a clear path through. As you all know by now I'm all for a n even playing field in the sport.
In the post fight, wlad was very gracious and i think his stock has risen alot from this fight, I think he'll have made a lot of new fans. Haye on the other hand is going to get a lot of stick. Deservedly or not, a lot of that stick is going to come from people who would never step into a ring let alone reach the very top of their proffession or sport.
I think a rematch is very possible, where else is wlad going to make that money. And if it happens I'll be supporting haye again![]()
I'm upset because he didn't lay it on the line. He didn't try to win. He didn't press the action. He didn't do anything.
I have no problem with hype. Generally, hype is great because generally when fighters talk the talk, they walk the walk. The difference here was stark. For example, Carl Froch is an arrogant SOB. But, Carl Froch puts on a fun show. At least he backs his talk up. Haye is a charlatan. He's bad for boxing. As a fan of Haye's, you should be embarrassed.
I should be embarrassed because the fighter I was supporting got outclassed? Don't be silly. Haye was beaten by the better man.
Do you believe everything you read? Fighters have been saying one thing only to do another for ever. If Haye fought to your instructions he would have probably been knocked out. But I guess that's what you're so upset about.
What happened to Wlad punishing him for 12 rounds before sparking him? Wlad was his usual self, which was simply to good for Haye. That's all there is to it.

Tough crowd! Fenster was drunk and having fun, stop getting so worked up about it all!
I think this thread is actually very funny.![]()
I knew the title would cause a frenzy. All my best ones come when i'm drunk.
I genuniely do feel Haye put up a good effort though. I am CERTAIN he did better than most people expected. Could he have been more adventurous? Yes. But Wlad was clearly to hard for him to figure out.

To be honest.... I also place some blame on Wlad. Had Wlad pressed the action more, maybe he would've FORCED Haye to make it more of a fight.
To be fair I thought Haye was extremely effective in making Wlad miss and early on and it looked like it could have been a good fight, but Haye really tailed off until the last round. He survived, but I really feel that was all he was doing for long stretches of the fight. Just not willing to let anything go and you can't beat Wlad like that.
Others have said "same old Wlad", which is true, but I was impressed with Wlad. He was in there with someone that was clearly faster and if he actually had a punch output could have caused damage, but Haye clearly wasn't willing to do that. Wlad showed good generalship and he really seems to have mastered this style. That's why I would like to see a Valuev fight, just to see how he fights a bigger man himself. I find that fascinating.
Fenster, I don't understand why it is so difficult for you to comprehend that if you are going to talk the talk, then you should walk the walk. Period. End of story.
Haye is horrible for boxing. Haye got the casual boxing fan to tune in because he did such a good job faking people into believing he would actually fight Wlad. And then once, the casual fan was tuned in, he put on a dreadful, dreadful performance. That is the kind of the performance that turns people off to boxing. In a time, where the sport isn't doing as well as it has in the past, performances like that, performances like Shane Mosley's against Pacquiao, irreparably hurt the cause. If Haye hadn't tried to convince everyone to believing that he would stand and fight Klitschko and that he would at least try to turn in a good performance, I wouldn't say anything. This performance would go under the radar. He tricked us. I applaud boxers like Matthew Hatton or Micheal Jennings, who although comparably outgunned, went into the lion's den as class acts and left it all in the ring, not fraudsters like David Haye.
As as fan of Haye, you should be gutted that he turned out to be such a fake and embarrassed because he turned out to not possess any mettle.
You're using reason and that's your first mistake.

You hated Haye before this fight.. now you hate him even more.
I thought Haye was a good boxer before this fight.. and I still KNOW he is a good boxer.
Sorry mate but i'm clearly not as emotionally attached to this stuff as you. I am not gutted. I am not embarassed. And I don't think Haye is a fraud or has anything to be ashamed about. He lost to a better man. That's it.
TitoFan, have upset you in the past? You seem to have a problem with me?![]()

No problem, Fen. I'm just calling you out because I feel you're defending the indefensible. In a way I sort of understand. It's not easy to stand there and say: "My guy stunk up the joint and I was dead wrong." But hey..... Dark Lord Al is doing it, and to an extent so is Miles. But I know it's difficult.... seriously.

In my case though, I was really never in Haye's corner. So, I'm not the best example. In the case of others then sure.
I don't see how he is defending the indefensible
Haye was a smaller guy moving up from a lower division and in the circumstances he fought a plucky fight and made a decent effort. No way did I expect him to go 12 rounds, when bigger, and I believed better fighters, like Tony Thompson and Eddie Chambers both failed.
But he made a decent go of it. The first few rounds were very entertaining no matter what anybody says and it was only in the second half of the fight when the fight started slipping away from him that he reverted to the survival type tactics adopted by all of Wlad's opponents.
He lost because Wlad is a very very good world champion. He didn't disgrace himself in the ring and put up a decent effort in a very difficult challenge.
Sure his prefight claims were made to look silly, and his excuses afterwards were pretty laughable but there wasn't anything wrong with his efforts in the ring imo.
People who are complaining either wanted to see him get knocked out, or else just wanted him to throw caution to the wind and go out slugging and either knock out Wlad, or be knocked out, probably didn't care either way, just wanted some good action.
But it's different when you're the actual guy in the ring taking the shots.
For those who bought the card and feel ripped off, well don't be a mug next time.
