Power is more important because you can be exciting and win fights. I would rather be remembered for a Hearn’s than a Mercer.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Just slightly out of topic though I just remembered one of my favorite heavies David Tua's got the best of both worlds, chin and power. What was his downfall?

Thanks Andre, VD and Spicoli, you guys are right except the Tua's power being overrated. I think Tua's power is consistent from Rahman's, Oquendo's, Maskaev's, Ruiz and the Nigerian or South African guy's kayo. They were pretty strong opposition IMO.

Good examples, that also highlight the difficult in classifying a world class power puncher. Miranda is the only fighter I've seen extensively that you list, and his power was incredibly raw(perhaps a tad overrated also imo). He is extremely limited in punch variety, and doesn't have many ways to set up a big punch on the top level. I think that is really the main thing seperating him from someone like Julian Jackson or Earnie Shavers, who were just as chinny and raw to start with similar physicality. Both of those guys had much better timing and in Jacksons case craft and variety. If Jackson were as useless going backwards as Miranda was Herol Graham would've never gotten caught like that, McLellan would've completely blasted him out in the first fight etc etc. Guys who are thought of as limited sluggers often have a lot more to their game than meets the eye, a guy who is primarily a puncher(especially if they are chinny) need to make their opponent respect that they can land from angles, moving back etc.
Both great power & great chins have their drawbacks. Guys with great chins often never feel they have to learn defensive techniques. All those shots you eat as an amateur, as a pro & in years of sparring catch up so you want to make sure it's as few as possible. Great power as I said would be my preference, however that has it's drawbacks as too many of these power punches expect someone to go first decent punch. If they don't then they don't know how to change up.
If I was a pro it would definitely be power. Power gets TV networks & fans wanting to see you. Great power can take you at the least to the borders of the elite (see Randall Bailey & Earnie Shavers) & often much further than a fighter's skillset should allow. However, most importantly great power means a hell of a lot more money to see you fight & that's what you want as a pro.
Power
Can't believe so many of you are choosing chins. How many times in your life have you been knocked out and been lacking for a good chin?
I'd go for the power every day of the week. Then the next time I kiss some girl and her boyfriends brother tries to kick my ass I will fucking bury him.
For an average Joe living a civilian life a good chin is a waste. Your body will still be soft, doughy and pathetically weak. And you'll have no power to fight back so will have to back down anyway.
Your reading comprehension was poor. The Genie gave one wish! Chin or power, not pro boxing career plus chin or power.
And this is saying nothing about the legalities of using genies in boxing. It would most definitely be outlawed imo and so if you asked a genie for a reinforced chin as a pro boxer and got caught, you are getting banned my friend.
a fighter with little ability but a huge amount of raw power can still win fights as he has that punchers chance
little ability mixed with an awesome chin is just asking for trouble i think, leads to taking a lot of punishment and slurring your words like a drunk before you hit 35
