Murray - Mitchell

This fight was postponed from last week and there are rumors Mitchell is not fit or up for it.

If everything was kosher, it would be a fantastic fight. I reckon Mitchell would outbox Murray in a classic. But hearing the current reports on him, I just hope he turns up.

Three other cracking fights on the night. Gavin-Woodhouse have been slagging each other off on another site, Burns-Cook should be close, and Bellew-McKenzie had 50 knockdowns last time. Great stuff.

That's too bad about Mitchell if true. Do you know how serious the charges against him are?

Sounds like a great card. Which sucks because I won't be able to watch them as I'll be in Vancouver signing the lease for our new place. I also missed Wlad - Haye because of this moving bullshit.

Jaz was the first to let on about Mitchells problems. All turned out true. The inside reports make it sound as though he's turning up for a payday and is ruined since the Katsidis loss. Still you never know with this boxing lark...

If that's the case, it might be smart for me to put a few bucks on a Murray TKO victory. Then again, perhaps this is just another of Jaz's many plots to bring down the white man.

Even I couldn't fuck up Mitchell as much as he's tried to fuck himself up in the last 18 months. Look at a picture of him after the Prescott fight & now. He's aged about 10 years in that time. He's got like some anti-oil of olay shit.

I really don't rate Murray highly at all, I think he's been very well matched by Steve Wood & Hennessy on the way up & despite all the criticism of Warren, he does make sure his guys generally get the right challenges to improve them.

If this was even the shoddy, drunk Mitchell that turned up for the Kats fight, I'd pick him. It's not. He's spent a year very publicly (in the London boxing scene anyway) blowing obscene amounts of cash on drink & drugs. He's been getting fucked up in sparring by guys who really shouldn't be doing so. The guy who lives the life will take it. Murray in 7.

How dyou know this about Mitchell? Are you mates with boxers in his gym or anything? I just would like to know if this is hearsay or if you actually are speaking the truth from being in the know cos I quite fancy Murray for this one myself I already have a bet on him

To be quite honest mate, it's pretty much public knowledge among the London clubs. I heard from a fella at the Repton (not Mitchell's old club, he boxed for West Ham), but I trust that person not to spread unkind rumours. But, tbh mate everyone knows. He made no secret of it, at least after the Katsidis fight & I've heard it discussed by at least half a dozen people who definitely would know. It's a shame because he was a nice talent & what a boost it would've been for the guys at West Ham, of whom there's at least a couple I can think of who look like they could make excellent pros.

Those things get said all the time, it's just more believable given how Mitchell has lived over the past year. It also isn't necessarily a bad thing. I mean I'd heard that Groves was having a tough time prior to the DeGale fight, not just with the likes of Dirrell, but was reportedly not having an easy go of it against Chris Eubank Jr. But given the result & having seen Chris Jr live, I can see why it would have been a benefit.

Mitchell has been on the piss ever since he got his butt kicked by Katsidis ,he said so himself in the press , apparently has blown £100 k , he is all over the place ,was also involved in some drug related shit , arsehole .

His mum (who he lives with) was busted for dealing coke a few months back. Rumour was he was mixed up in it.

From what I've heard he's back to a strict regime, but I still don't think he's going to have enough to win.
