That's Ray in like what? His 12th pro fight? Are you kididng me?

The best part is when he is circling Floyd, like JEB Stuart riding around the Union Army, never hitting him twice from the same spot.

Floyd gets full points for toughness. He really hung in there.
Leonard had an amazing arsenal of punches that he threw with speed and power, and I can't think of another Pug who could fire off those deadly combinations quite like Ray. Thay don't make 'um like Leonard anymore.
I'm not sure they ever made them like Ray very much

Very good points guys! Holy cow, what a tough, fast, mean guy in that ring! Can you imagine being in the ring with a fighter like that?

That was brilliant from Leonard, prime SRL beats the shoulder roll and skills of Mayweather.

LOL, me neither - it would be: "Yes Mr. Leonard, whatever you say, sir!"

Yep, Ray did have a mean streak, but he always seemed humble outside the ring. (at least in regard to boxing) And I agree, I can't imagine what you could do against a guy like Leonard, who in most cases would be head and shoulders above you in talent/skill, speed and punching power.

That's how you beat the shoulder roll of Mayweather, left hook, timing and a lot of combinations. Quality clip you showed me and reminded me how good Leonard was.

Leonard is one of the greatest fighters who ever step foot in the ring top 10 atg for me. He was one of the most skilled boxers and not only that but his chin was stone and when he need to brawl well you know. I loved watching that fight because that was when Leonard was still very green.

As a kid, I loved to watch boxing with my brother on Sat & Sunday afternoons (recall when ABC, CBS & NBC still did that?). My German grandmother used to shake her head & said boxing is such a brutal sport.

The only fighter she actually liked to watch was Ray, she said it was because he was such a clean fighter. OK? Whatever but he was a stone cold killer in that ring!

He sure did/does seem humble, I think it was Mike Trainer (former lawyer of Ray's?) who once said Ray's one heck of a nice guy but put gloves on him & put him in a ring & he's another person. Yeah, if you can't hurt him, out speed or outbox him, just take a beating.

Must have been something for Hearns to see Ray keep coming, he's thinking: "Damn, I usually knocked guys out with the shots I hit Ray with".
