Sorry Daxx, with the exception of Santa Cruz-Casamayor, none of those are even remotely as bad as this decision.
You want another bad decision... O'Neil Bell W12 Dale Brown. Remember that one?

Cory was taking alot of punches where it just didnt look like they landed flush because he leans away alot and has great balance. He was rocked a few times where I saw him have to hold on. Verno never was rocked, he may have had floppy legs but he's 38....Controlled the tempo, oh do you mean backing up constantly and mainly countering? I gave alot of close rounds , and there was alot of close ones to Verno. Only real clear rounds to me were a few where Cory just outboxed and wasn't hit much, and the I'd say 3 rounds where Verno had Cory rocked a bit.
Oh wait, Chavez-Whitaker was brutal too... But I'm talkin' this decade man. We can go back to Ali-Norton if you want.... But Phillips over Spinks stinks as bad as any of them.
If we're going back to Whitaker-Chavez, you know the decision was pretty bad. With the exception of SantaCruz-Joel, none were worse.
Yeah OK...First it is "This is the worst deecision I have ever seen",,,Then it is decisions this decade your speaking about.....Your talking out of your ass mate....Forrest Quartey was a much bigger robbery....and Mick gave you others that happened in the last decade...don't go changing things around...either iut is the worst one you ever seen...the worst this decade or from what I am seeing you have no clue and just feel this was a bad decision...and thats OK your not the only one...I think it was an OK decision except the 116-112 margin was bullshit....but don't change your story around every other post...that don;'t fly here...everyone here knows their boxing from A-Z and back again

I wasn't properly scoring the fight, I was just watching casually, but it had the feel that Verno was doing more. You could even see Cory's face after the fight, he wasnt real confident, he kind of looked scared. He doesn't do enough is his problem, but he's a real good boxer.
Okay, it was the worst decision of the past decade, and quite possibly the worst decision of my entire life fair enough... Admittedly, it is the most fresh in my mind - I did forget about the Santa Cruz robbery... but anyone who knows boxing, and I know the people on this site do, knows that Spinks got absolutely robbed.
Ali-Norton
Chavez-Whitaker
and now Phillips-Spinks
right there with'em man.
YES!!!! I'm so excited! I've have just received more good news today thanks to this fight!
FUCK YEAH!!!
I will have to watch the fight and judge for myself but I felt Spinks Lost: Both Judah fights, the Mayorga fight BIG TIME, the Karmazin fight, AND the Taylor fight.
Good for Verno Phillips, 39 years old and a World Champion once again!
I hope he deserved it, judgin by the insane amount of gift decisions Cory has gotten in the past, I thinK the way I judge fights, I would have Verno winning, but I'll have to watch the fight and make sure.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
I thought it was an ok fight, and to be honest I have no complaints with the decision, it was a tight fight and really it was all about what you prefered, personally I had phillips up like 8-4 or so I gotta watch it again but I felt like phillips deserved the win.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
Fenech V Nelson I
It was a close fight...Both guys had their moments...Spinks boxed very well and used very good handspeed....Verno landed hard shots that stunned Cory and knocked his head back quite a bit....
At times Verno looked his age and at times Cory seemed to fade whe he should have been pushing the pace....It was a decent bout...Hats off to Verno for getting it done at 38 and hats off to Cory for trying to make the fight exciting and not dull....TBH I would not have been bitter if Spinks won..
The only tragedy in the bout was the 116-112 one judge had it...other then that no real contraversy nothing to gripe about....a rematch is warrented

This could work out well for Spinks. He is boring to watch, and doesnt sell well outta St Louis. His biggest chance of drawing a big crowd may be a rematch with Verno.
I mean if word gets around that Cory was robbed first fight then more ppl may wanna tune in to see what happens in the second.
