it will be definitely be frustrating for Rey considering that all his team members won.He is not hopeless considering his age.He can still improve. His time has not yet come.

signs that RB is raw and not ready for a big opponent, when he went down the first time he should taken his time and waited for the 8th count. instead he hurriedly stood up for another batch of ponce bombs.

he taught he has ponces number since gerry took him well on their last fight, RB thinking that he is better he taught he can handle anything ponces punches. RB being young forgot the fact the gerry is a vet and can handle tons of pressure.

tssk tssk i heard the manager of RB was ashamed of himself i think he knows that everybody knows that RB isnt ready yet but they still decided to match him up against ponce.

I knew boom boom was not ready yet,

I couldn't beleive they matched him up with De Leon. I thought that he was gonna come out damaged goods like Vargas did against Trinidad.

but good think he did not take a huge beating, he will recover. Let's just hope mentally he still has it.

Congratulations to you both Pacstraight & Julius job well done for your country, you guys were the better team and come through.

Can't wait to see you guys defend the cup.... That should be great.

Don't think anyone cares, but the local guy, Gonzalez KO'd Polanco in the first. Polanco was a fatty, looked like he shoulda been a welterweight, not a MW, but he brought it till he got caught and KO'd. I was there rinside LIVE and it was bad ass. All the Filipino fighters on the under card, Gorres, Banal, Domingo, came by and greeted the fans and talked with them and signed autographs. It was bad ass. They gave Domingo all six rounds, I thought he won, but not by THAT much.
Yea i remember that guy he was from here and was like 2-0 he was fighting a sorta out of shape looking guy, and in an earlier match cardenes went down and was taken out on a strecther but i heard it was an ankle injury not from the actual ko in case anyone cares. We were there as well and had a great time...I found the J. gonzalez match rather strange in the way that he seemed to be throwing a ton of light punches where as Penalosa threw a lot less but they were all hard punches, and imo bautista just plain looked uncomfortable like this was his first pro fight instead of his first title fight, he just never looked ...the best way i could put it was ready.

yea ponce never allowed boomboom to get off and thats exactly what anyone should do to a young fighter before they start getting hot put them out cold. Good win for ponce.

Yeah Cardenes went down awkard, fell back on his own leg. And Gonzalez threw a lot of great looking punches and combos but like you say there wasn't much on any of them besides the occasional left hook that he dug into Penalosa with. Jhonny never sat down on his punches. And you gotta admit that outta shape guy brought it to the local kid till he got KO'd. By the way what section were you in the Mexican or Filipino section?
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
